Matching Literacy Center!

This literacy center is for first graders!

The goal is to help the students become fluent in speaking their sight words out loud.

(you could also use these resources and hand each kids a set and time them as they match cards)

Directions for game:

 Get into pairs!

 Mix your words and place them face down.
 Spread out your face down cards
 Take turns flipping over two cards at a time.
 When you flip the cards you have to say the word you flipped. If you get
it wrong your turn stops, you don’t get your match, and it is your
partners turn.
 If you get matching cards, and say both words correctly, you have to say
a sentence that uses the word you got. Then you get to keep the match!
 Whoever has the most cards at the end wins!
