1. Five mechanical engineering students from UiTM will conduct a community service program at Surau Haji Sulaiman and the Tanah Perkuburan Islam Selat Klang cemetery. 2. The one-day program aims to improve the facilities and environment through cleaning activities, and also allow the students to interact with the local community. 3. The schedule includes briefings, cleaning works, serving lunch, and a closing ceremony. The total budget of RM200 will cover cleaning tools and food.

1. INTRODUCTION

For student who are in semester seven, MEC600 (Engineering in Society Course) is
necessary in the syllabus. Throughout the course, the student will learn how significant
engineer is and their huge responsibility towards society. Unlike other subject that
focused on theory and specific knowledge focus, this course tend to give student a
different perspective and new point of view of what engineer is in this modern world. An
engineer is not just normal job that get paid for the work, but an engineer serve to much
greater good and to improve the community in so many ways. During this course,
students will undergo a community service (CSR) program. The purpose is to expose
student to the responsibility towards the community. In order to have a full exposure, the
students will interact directly with the chosen community to do the program. Moreover,
the students will do a community service to improve the environment and make the
chosen place better than before. This program will be held on Surau Haji Sulaiman at
Klang and Tanah Perkuburan Islam Selat Klang. The purpose of this program is want the
students to near to the community, cooperation between members and improve their soft
skills. This program will involve 15 volunteers and 1 lecturer.
2. OBJECTIVE

1. By doing the Community Service (CSR) program, the students will gain new
experience in term of communication skills, self-motivation, conflict resolution and
work in a group.
2. The chosen community will be improved by the students themselves.
3. To assist faculty in their role as facilitator of service learning and in their engagement
with community.
4. To provide leadership training and development opportunity.
5. To help the community to clean and tidy on surau and cemetery.
3. PROGRAM PLANNING

Time Activity

8.00am Assembly at UiTM.

9.30-10.00am -Arrive at Surau Haji Sulaiman and breakfast.


- Briefing with Haji Azman and all volunteer.

10.00a.m-12.00pm - Gotong Royong at Tanah Perkuburan Islam Selat Klang.

12.00–1.30pm - Serving lunch for village’s people and perform Zohor prayer.

1.30-3.30pm - Gotong Royong at Surau Haji Sulaiman.

4.00pm - Closing Event.
