HANDWRITING
I will be writing all lessons in cursive starting this week. Students who feel comfortable with cur-
sive may do all assignments in cursive. Those who are not may write in manuscript and practice
cursive until they feel comfortable. All students should be writing in cursive when we return from
Christmas break.
SCIENCE-This week students will assess what we have learned
about the sun and the moon. We will set up Moon Stations in
which students rotate to different stations doing different activities
about the moon.
RELIGION-Students will learn about the history of the rosary
as well as different sightings of Mary. This week’s Word of the
Week is ransom-a sum of money or other payment demanded
or paid for the release of a prisoner. This Week’s Good News
comes from Mark 10:35-45.
SOCIAL STUDIES-This week students will learn about the geog-
raphy and history of different communities starting with El Paso
and continuing with Astoria, Oregon and Timbuktu, Africa and
compare them. They will also be learning about the compass in map
skills.
REMINDERS
The only drop off is on Stanton Street. The Arizona parking lot is not a
drop off. Parents need to park and walk students to the school at the
crosswalk if they are using the parking lot. The lot behind the gym and
the church is also not to be used to drop off students. Thank you, in ad-
vance, for your cooperation!
We are collecting Price’s bottle caps and Box Tops for Education. Please
help us out by sending these items in when you purchase milk or other
products with box tops for education.
