‫يحتفل العالم باليوم العالمي للسالم في ‪21‬‬

‫الـيــوم‬
‫سبتمبر من كل عام ‪ ،‬وهو اليوم الذي يتم فيه‬
‫االحتفال بقوة التضامن العالمي لبناء عالم‬ ‫هذا العدد بمناسبة ‪..‬‬
‫يملؤه السالم‪ ،‬فاألمور التي تمحو السالم‬
‫متعددة وال تستطيع دولة واحدة محاربتها ‪.‬‬
‫في العام ‪ ،1981‬تم بموجب قرار الجمعية‬
‫العامة لألمم المتحدة ‪ 36/67‬تعيين االحتفال‬
‫بأول‬
‫باليوم العالمي للسالم وقد احتُ فل ّ‬
‫يوم للسالم في سبتمبر ‪ .1982‬وفي عام‬
‫‪ ،2001‬صوتت الجمعية العامة باإلجماع‬
‫بتحديد ‪ 21‬سبتمبر يوما لالمتناع عن العنف‬
‫ووقف إطالق النار‪ .‬وقد أعلن عن هذا‬
‫اليوم األمين العام لألمم المتحدة آنذاك "‬
‫أنطونيو غوتيريش " لتوحيد جميع الحكومات‬
‫والمجتمعات المدنية في العالم للعمل على‬
‫تحقيق السالم من خالل الحوار‪.‬‬
‫هذا وتعتبر السلطنة من الدول التي تتمتع‬
‫بالسالم على مستوى العالم حيث حصلت‬

‫العـالمــــــــــــــــي‬
‫السلطنة على المركز الخامس عربيا في‬
‫مؤشر السالم العالمي لعام ‪ ،2018‬الذي‬
‫أصدره معهد االقتصاد والسالم بأسترالي‬
‫في شهر يونيو الماضي ‪ ،‬وقد حازت أيضا‬
‫على المركز ‪ 73‬عالميا ‪ ،‬وصنفت ضمن قائمة‬
‫الدول التي تتمتع بدرجة عالية من السلم‪.‬‬
‫وصنفت السلطنة في المركز األول عربيا‬
‫في مؤشر انعدام الصراع الداخلي والخارجي‬
‫الفرعي كما حصلت على المركز الرابع عربيا‬
‫في مؤشر األمن والسلم المجتمعي ‪.‬‬

‫فعاليات متعددة لألطفال ‪ ،‬تنوعت بني القراءة‬ ‫نفذت الجمعية العامنية ألصدقاء‬
‫والشطرنج والكراتيه واملحاسبة وغريها من‬ ‫املسنني ممثلة بأعضاء محافظة‬
‫الفعاليات التي جمعت الفائدة واملتعة معاً‪،‬‬ ‫الداخلية بالتعاون مع جمعية املرأة‬
‫وذلك خالل فعالية « صيف ُجود و ُمهيب « مع‬ ‫العامنية بوالية أدم ومستشفى أدم‬
‫فريق سوا نبني والتي أقيمت خالل شهري‬ ‫ونادي البشائر فعاليات ملتقى «صيف‬
‫يوليو وأغسطس ‪.‬‬ ‫األجداد» الذي يهدف إىل إبراز حرف‬
‫املسنني وتأهيل مسنني آخرين‬
‫ملامرسة بعض الحرف وتدريبهم عىل‬
‫طرق التسويق‪ ،‬وكذلك إبراز الدور الذي‬
‫تقوم به الجمعية العامنية ألصدقاء‬
‫املسنني للمجتمع عموما وللمسنني‬
‫خصوصا‪ ،‬مام يشجع عىل التعارف‬
‫والتآلف بني املسنني املشاركني‬
‫ويساعد عىل استقطاب أعضاء جدد‬
‫للجمعية‪.‬‬

‫معسكر المغامرين‬
‫لريادة األعمال‬
‫وسط جو ميلء بالحب واإلخاء نظمت جمعية الرحمة‬ ‫الرستاق تزف ‪ 57‬عريسا في‬
‫لرعاية األمومة والطفولة بالتعاون مع جمعية بهجة‬
‫لأليتام معسكر املغامرين لريادة األعامل وذلك‬ ‫أول عرس جماعي بالوالية‬
‫يف مدينة صاللة‪ ،‬وقد القى املعسكر استحسان‬
‫املشاركني وسط جو من التفاعل والتنافس بني فرق‬ ‫احتفلت والية الرستاق مؤخرا بزفاف ‪ 57‬شاباً من أبنائها وذلك خالل‬
‫ْ‬
‫العمل والتنافس الفردي وذلك للحصول عىل وسام‬ ‫العرس الجامعي األول يف الوالية‪ ،‬وقد أُقيم الحفل يف ساحة االحتفاالت‬
‫التميز الخاص باملعسكر‪ ،‬وقد تم استخدام طاقات‬ ‫برعاية معايل عبداملنعم بن منصور الحسني وزير اإلعالم‪ ،‬وبتنظيم‬
‫املشاركني وتحويلها إىل مهارات قيادية بإسلوب‬ ‫من لجنة التنمية االجتامعية ممثلة يف فريق الرستاق الخريي‪ ،‬وقد جرت‬
‫ريادي يسوده الحب واإلخاء وذلك عىل يد املدرب‬ ‫التجهيزات الستقبال أكرث من ‪ 15‬ألف من املدعوين واملهنئني‪ ،‬ويأيت‬
‫الدكتور سليامن الفهدي‪.‬‬ ‫هذا العرس الجامعي تجسيدا للتكاتف والتعاون بني أفراد املجتمع لتقليل‬
‫العبء عىل الشباب املقبلني عىل الزواج وتقليل املصاريف‪.‬‬

‫«معا من‬ ‫فعالية خيرية‬

‫أجل عمان»‬ ‫نظمت جمعية الطلبة العامنيني يف ليدز مؤخرا‬
‫النسخة الثالثة من الفعالية الخريية «مد يدك»‬
‫وذلك يف مسقط جراند مول بهدف توفري‬
‫أقامت جمعية دار العطاء مؤخرا‬ ‫مستلزمات املدارس لطالب األرس املعرسة‪.‬‬
‫املؤمتر الصحفي الخاص باإلعالن عن‬ ‫تضمنت الفعالية فقرات لألطفال‪ ،‬ومعرضا‬
‫آلية إعداد وتجهيز وتنفيذ حملة «معا‬ ‫استهالكيا للمشاريع الصغرية وقد شارك‬
‫من أجل عامن» التي بدأت يف يوليو‬ ‫بالفعالية ‪-‬إىل جانب أعضاء جمعية الطلبة‬
‫الفائت وتستمر إىل نهاية العام الجاري‬ ‫العامنيني يف ليدز‪ -‬العديد من املتطوعني من‬
‫‪2018‬م‪ ،‬حيث تهدف الحملة لصيانة‬ ‫الشباب وكبار السن‪.‬‬
‫البيوت املترضرة من األنواء املناخية‬
‫«مكونو» يف والية مرباط‪ ،‬وقد تطرق‬
‫املؤمتر إىل أهداف الحملة وآلية‬
‫تنفيذها وطرق الدعم لتمويل الحملة‬
‫والجهات املستفيدة منها‪.‬‬

‫وفد األطفال الفلسطينيين‬

‫يزور السلطنة‬
‫استقبلت وزارة التنمية االجتامعية مؤخرا وفدا من أبناء‬
‫الشهداء واألرسى ومرافقيهم وذلك مبركز رعاية‪ ،‬حيث‬
‫قام الوفد بالتعرف عىل املركز والربامج التي يقدمها‪،‬‬
‫هذا وقد أعدت الوزارة لهم برنامجا سياحيا ترفيهيا‬
‫للتعرف عىل أبرز املعامل واألماكن السياحية التي‬
‫تزخر بها السلطنة وذلك يف محاولة للمساهمة يف‬
‫التخفيف من حدة الفقد لألطفال األيتام وأبناء األرسى‪،‬‬
‫وتأيت هذه الخطوة يف إطار اهتامم السلطنة الدائم‬
‫بالقضية الفلسطينية‪.‬‬

‫خالل توفري سيارة توعية مصممة حسب الطلب‪.‬‬ ‫برنامج أوكسيدنتال عامن للتدريب املهني لعدد‬ ‫ ‬ ‫الشباب واالبتكار‪ .‬كام تهدف الجوائز كذلك إىل تحفيز‬

‫تدريب ‪ 20‬امرأة عىل تعبئة وتغليف منتجات‬

‫‪ 160‬طالبا يف مجال اللحام والطاقة الكهربائية‪.‬‬
‫تدريب ‪ 25‬امرأة من ذوات الدخل املحدود يف‬ ‫ ‬
‫الشباب عىل إطالق العنان إلبداعاتهم ومهاراتهم‬
‫وقدراتهم اإلبداعية‪ .‬ويف اآلونة األخرية‪ ،‬قمنا بتوقيع‬

‫الجديد‪ ،‬ألننا نعتقد أن االستثمار‬

‫ما هي النتائج اإليجابية التي تحصل عليها‬
‫أوكسيدنتال عمان من دعمها لهذه البرامج؟‬
‫كام أوضحت آنفا‪ ،‬من خالل تنفيذنا السرتاتيجية املسؤولية‬
‫االجتامعية للرشكات‪ ،‬سنكون قادرين عىل تعزيز العالقات‬
‫مع املجتمعات وخلق قيم مشرتكة لكل من أصحاب‬
‫املصلحة والرشكة‪ .‬عندما بدأت أوكسيدنتال عامن العمل‬
‫يف سلطنة عامن منذ أكرث من ثالثني عاما‪ ،‬فقد رشعت‬
‫يف أن تصبح «رشيكا مختارا» لتطوير وتنمية السلطنة‬
‫من خالل بذل قصارى جهدها‪ .‬ومنذ ذلك الحني‪ ،‬قامت‬
‫أوكسيدنتال عامن بإنشاء محفظة أعامل ناجحة للغاية من‬
‫مشاريع املسؤولية االجتامعية التي تصل إىل مجموعة‬
‫كبرية من أصحاب املصلحة‪ .‬وقد جاء هذا النجاح من خالل‬
‫العمل الجاد والتفاين من جانب موظفينا الذين ساهموا يف‬
‫التقدم االجتامعي يف السلطنة‪ .‬كام تستفيد أوكسيدنتال‬
‫عامن أيضا من التعاون الوثيق مع أصحاب املصلحة‬
‫الرئيسيني‪ ،‬مثل جمعية دار العطاء‪ ،‬التي طاملا كانت‬
‫حريصة عىل دعم أوكسيدنتال عامن يف برامجها ومبادراتها‬
‫الخاصة باملسؤولية االجتامعية للرشكات‪.‬‬
‫ما هي الخطط المستقبلية التي تسعى‬
‫الشركة لتنفيذها في المرحلة المقبلة؟‬
‫يف املستقبل‪ ،‬نهدف إىل مواصلة السعي من أجل تحقيق‬
‫أهدافنا املوضوعة والوصول إىل املزيد من السمعة‬
‫في الشباب يساعدنا على‬
‫تحقيق استراتيجيتنا التي تهدف‬
‫والبيئة؛ والثقافة والرياضة؛ والرفاهية‪.‬‬
‫إلى تحقيق التنمية المستدامة‬
‫نود أن نعرف أهم برامج المسؤولية‬
‫االجتماعية للشركات التي تدعمها الشركة‪.‬‬
‫تتمثل اسرتاتيجية أوكسيدنتال عامن للمسؤولية‬

‫االمتياز‪ .‬ومن خالل االستثامر يف الربامج واملبادرات‬ ‫العطاء للتحدث عن أهم برامج وخطط املسؤولية‬
‫اإلجتامعية التي تتبعها الرشكة‪.‬‬
‫املصلحة الرئيسيني‪ ،‬فنحن قادرون عىل تعزيز العالقات‬
‫مع املجتمعات وخلق قيم مشرتكة لكل من أصحاب‬ ‫ما هو المنهج الذي تتبعه شركة‬

‫يف مشاريع املسؤولية االجتامعية عىل خمسة مجاالت‬ ‫رشكة أوكسيدنتال عامن تعمل يف سلطنة عامن منذ‬
‫رئيسية هي‪ :‬التعليم؛ وريادة األعامل؛ والصحة والسالمة‬ ‫أكرث من ثالثني عاما‪ .‬وتركز الرشكة عىل تحقيق األهداف‬

‫املستدامة ومشاريع املسؤولية االجتامعية للرشكات‪ ،‬التي‬

‫عىل سمعة أوكسيدنتال عامن كرشيك مختار‪.‬‬

‫مقر دائم‬
‫وقـد تحـدث الصواعـي عـن فكـرة عمـل مقـر‬
‫دائـم ملركـز «صـدى التطوعـي» قائـال‪ :‬أتـت‬
‫الفكـرة لذلـك لنسـتطيع مـن خاللـه متكـني‬
‫املشـاريع املنفـذة من خـالل التدريـب والتأهيل‬
‫للمتطوعـني‪ ،‬واسـتطعنا –بفضـل اللـه‪-‬‬
‫الحصـول عـىل أدوات وتسـهيالت لقاعـات‬
‫خاصـة باملقـر الدائـم مبحافظـة مسـقط‬
‫مبنطقـة القـرم‪.‬‬
‫أهم أعمال المركز‬
‫يقـوم املركـز بعـدة أعـامل مجتمعيـة هادفـة‬
‫منهـا‪ :‬تدريـب وتأهيـل املتطوعـني‪ ،‬وإقامـة‬
‫العديـد مـن املبـادرات املجتمعيـة الهادفـة‬
‫مثـل بطاقـة «تطـوع معنـا» و «صـدى الخـري»‬
‫التـي يذهـب ريعهـا لتعليـم وتأهيـل األطفـال‬
‫املعاقـني بجعـالن مبحافظـة جنـوب الرشقيـة‬
‫وذلـك بجمـع املالبـس املسـتعملة بحاويـات‬
‫خاصـة بالتعـاون مـع دائـرة التنميـة االجتامعيـة‪،‬‬
‫وكذلـك إيجـاد وسـائل تعليميـة هادفـة للحـد‬
‫مـن الحـوادث املروريـة وخطرهـا عـىل األطفـال‬
‫وذلـك بالتعـاون مـع منظمـة اليونيسـيف مـن‬
‫خـالل كتـب ومناهـج خاصـة بالهويـة العامنيـة‬
‫وألعـاب إلكرتونيـة وأيضـا برامـج وابتـكارات‬
‫تحـد مـن خطـورة تواجـد الجِـامل عـىل‬
‫الطريـق وأخـرى تسـاهم يف الحـد مـن‬
‫الحـوادث املروريـة لألطفـال بالحافـالت‬
‫املدرسـية‪.‬‬
‫وقـد قـام املركـز أيضـا بتخصيـص‬
‫مبنى خـاص لتأهيل الفتيـات وتعليمهن‬
‫القيـم العامنيـة والتعاليـم اإلنسـانية‬
‫مبحافظـة جنـوب الرشقيـة بالتعـاون مـع‬
‫وزارة األوقـاف والشـؤون الدينيـة‪ ،‬وأيضـاً‬
‫تأهيـل أبـرز املواهـب الكرويـة بأكادمييـة‬
‫باريـس مـن خـالل مـرشوع الرياضـة‬
‫بأخالقنـا أحـىل بالتعاون مع وزارة الشـؤون‬
‫الرياضيـة‪.‬‬

‫حصل على المركز الثاني في فئة األفراد بجائزة السلطان قابوس للعمل التطوعي‬
‫إبراهيم الصواعي‪« :‬صدى التطوعي»‪..‬‬

‫الصواعـي للمنافسـة عـىل جائـزة السـلطان‬ ‫األسم‬
‫قابـوس للعمـل التطوعـي يف العـام ‪2017‬م‬ ‫الرؤية‬ ‫جائزة السلطان قابوس للعمل التطوعي‬
‫تقدير األعمال التطوعية التي جسدت‬
‫فحصـل عـىل املركـز الثـاين يف فئـة األفـراد‪.‬‬
‫العطاء‬ ‫االنطالقة‬
‫مشروع رائد يهدف إلى‬
‫إبراهيـم الصواعـي شـاب عـامين ناجـح مـن‬ ‫انطلقت أول نسخة من الجائزة في دورتها‬
‫واليـة جعـالن مبحافظـة الرشقيـة ‪ ،‬حاصـل عىل‬ ‫الرسالة‬ ‫األولى في الخامس من ديسمبر لعام‬
‫االرتقاء بفكر الشباب‬ ‫أكـرث مـن ‪ 15‬جائـزة محليـة ودوليـة يف عـدد مـن‬
‫تعزيز وتنشيط دور المؤسسات‬ ‫‪ 2011‬بعد عام من تدشينها ‪.‬‬
‫وترسيخ القيم والمبادئ في‬ ‫املشـاريع‪ ،‬وقـد حصـل عـىل جائـزة السـلطان‬ ‫المجتمعية واألفراد في مجاالت العمل‬
‫قابـوس عـن مـرشوع «مركـز صـدى التطوعي»‬ ‫التطوعي‬ ‫الجائزة‬
‫نفوسهم‪ ،‬وكذلك تنمية‬ ‫تجسيد رؤية صاحب الجاللة السلطان‬
‫وهـو مـرشوع يخـدم املجتمـع باألعـامل الطيبة‬
‫التفكير اإليجابي لديهم‬ ‫أهميتها‬ ‫قابوس بن سعيد المعظم ‪-‬حفظه الله‬
‫التـي تنـري الفكـر وترسـم طريـق العطـاء بكل ما‬ ‫لتكريم كل من‬ ‫ومميزة‬ ‫فريدة‬ ‫فرصة‬ ‫ورعاه ‪ -‬لتفعيل العمل التطوعي و هي‬

‫فيـه مـن قيـم ومعان‪ ،‬وهـو مرشوع رائـد يهدف‬ ‫قدم ويقدم جهودا وأفكارا و مشاريع‬ ‫األولى من نوعها على مستوى السلطنة‬
‫إىل االرتقـاء بفكـر الشـباب وترسـيخ القيـم‬ ‫تطوعية دون انتظار المقابل منها‬ ‫‪ ،‬التي تدعم وتشجع الجهود التطوعية‬
‫واملبـادئ يف نفوسـهم‪ ،‬وكذلك تنميـة التفكري‬ ‫من كافة جوانبها دون تخصيص‪.‬‬
‫اإليجـايب لديهـم‪ ،‬وتحمـل املسـؤولية والقيادة‪،‬‬
‫وإكسـابهم العـادات الحسـنة‪ ،‬وإعدادهـم‬
‫للمشـاركة املجتمعيـة الفاعلـة مـن خـالل‬
‫تقديـم خدمـات مـن املركز تشـتمل عىل حلول‬
‫مبتكـرة للعمـل التطوعـي لتحفـز الشـباب عـىل‬
‫حـب العمـل واملشـاركة يف التنميـة االجتامعيـة‬
‫واالقتصاديـة للبـالد‪.‬‬
‫سـعى الصواعـي ‪-‬مـن خـالل رسـالته‬
‫ومرشوعه‪ -‬إىل توفري تسـهيالت وأدوات لتعزيز‬
‫الجوانـب اإلبداعيـة لـدى املتطوعـني لتحويـل‬
‫أفكارهـم إىل مؤسسـات شـبابية غري ربحية‪،‬‬
‫كـام سـعى إىل تحقيـق العديـد مـن األهـداف‬
‫أهمهـا‪ :‬ترسـيخ املواطنـة من خالل مشـاركة‬
‫الفئـة املسـتهدفة ملشـاريع البلـد‪ ،‬والعمـل‬
‫عـىل تفعيـل منظومـة ترتكـز وتتمحـور‬
‫حـول املبادريـن‪ ،‬وزرع ثقافـة التطـوع لـدى‬
‫النشـأ‪ ،‬وزيـادة نسـبة املبادريـن العامنيـني‬
‫املشـاركيني يف األنشـطة املجتمعيـة‪،‬‬
‫وتوسـيع فرص املشـاركة ألصحاب الدخل‬
‫املحـدود وذوي اإلعاقـة‪ ،‬وتشـجيع األفـراد‬
‫عـىل طـرح املبـادرات واحتضـان األبـرز‬
‫منهـا‪.‬‬

‫أول عمانية تهتم بتمكين األرملة‬
‫مريم بني عرابة‪« :‬سيدة العطاء»‬
‫فكرة ناجحة أسعى لتحقيقها على مستوى العالم‬
‫ناشطة اجتماعية في مجال اإلنسانية‪ ،‬وأول عمانية تبنت واهتمت بفكرة تمكين‬
‫المرأة األرملة‪ ،‬وهي أيضا عضوة في اللجنة العمانية لرياضات التزلج‪ ،‬كما أنها تقدم‬
‫استشارات للفرق التطوعية في مختلف المجاالت التي تهتم بالمجتمع واألسرة‬
‫بشكل عام‪ .‬لديها اهتمام وشغف كبير بمجال التسويق والتطوير وتقديم كل ما هو‬
‫جديد ومبتكر‪ ،‬تعاونت مع الكثير من المؤسسات الصغيرة والمتوسطة وبعض الجهات‬
‫الحكومية‪.‬‬
‫اللجوء إىل اآلخرين‪ ،‬باإلضافة إىل التثقيف النفيس‬
‫الذي سيساعدها يف إدارة حياتها بشكل عام‪.‬‬
‫اهتاممي بتمكني املرأة األرملة بشكل خاص نابع‬
‫من رغبتي يف جعلها امرأة قادرة عىل العطاء وقادرة‬
‫عىل مواجهة الحياة لتكون قدوة ألبنائها وللمجتمع‬
‫الذي تعيش فيه‪ ،‬واهتاممي كان بتمكينها من‬ ‫فكرة (سيدة العطاء) جاءت‬
‫الجانب النفيس واملهني والتقني واملعنوي وذلك‬
‫لتمكين األرملة من االندماج‬
‫من خالل إقامة حلقات تدريبية بهدف توعيتها‬
‫وانطالقها‪.‬‬ ‫والعمل في المجتمع من‬
‫وامتنانا ملكانة األجداد يف املجتمع‪ ،‬هي مؤسسة‬
‫عن فريق بصمة خير التطوعي تحدثت‬
‫خالل االعتماد على نفسها‬
‫فريق بصمة خري التطوعي‪ ،‬العطاء إلتقت بالناشطة‬
‫قائلة‪:‬‬ ‫دون اللجوء إلى اآلخرين‬
‫يهتم الفريق بجميع فئات املجتمع ويعمل مببدأ‬
‫«املعرفة أساس التنمية» وذلك باإلسهام يف‬
‫تطوير منظور جديد للمرأة األرملة والعمل عىل رفع‬
‫مستوى الوعي لديها‪ ،‬كام يهتم مبجاالت الطفل‬
‫والتوعية البيئية الصحية وكل ما يخص األرس‬
‫املعرسة وذوي االحتياجات الخاصة‪ ،‬فنحن نسعى‬
‫دامئا لتدريب وتأهيل املرأة بشكل عام لجعلها‬
‫أكرث وعيا وإدراكا للطريقة التي ميكنها بها أن ترسم‬
‫خطوط مستقبلها وتخط طريقها بنفسها‪.‬‬
‫ما هو سقف طموحك الحقيقي من‬
‫برنامج التمكين باإلمكانات المتاحة‬
‫لديك؟‬

‫طموحايت تتخطى كل الحدود‪ ،‬فأنا ال أضع سقفا‬
‫لها‪ ،‬فأنا أطمح إىل أن أحقق الكثري من اإلنجازات‬
‫يف هذا اإلطار وتحقيق كفاءة اإلمتياز بتمكني املرأة‬
‫األرملة عىل مستوى العامل‪ ،‬كام أسعى لتحقيق‬
‫تغيري يف فكر وثقافة املجتمع مام يعود عليه‬
‫بالتطوير‪.‬‬
‫متطوع‬ ‫‪14‬‬
‫بدأ العمل التطوعي من “جونو” في ‪2007‬م‬
‫ُ راشد الغافري‪:‬‬
‫خلقنا من أجل العطاء‬
‫درس هندسة الميكانيكا في الكلية التقنية العليا وتخرج في العام ‪ 2008‬م‪ ،‬ويعمل‬
‫ُ‬
‫حاليا كرئيس قسم التصميم الميكانيكي في إحدى المؤسسات‪ ،‬م ِحب للحياة ولديه‬
‫فضول لمعرفة كل شيء‪ ،‬يتمتع بروح الشباب ويحب االستكشاف والمغامرة‪ ،‬يبحث‬
‫عن كل ما هو جديد وجميل‪ ،‬تطوع في عدد كبير من الجمعيات منذ العام ‪ 2007‬م حيث‬
‫يؤمن بأن الله خلقنا في هذه األرض من أجل العطاء‪ ،‬المهندس راشد الغافري هو ضيف‬
‫هذه الصفحة لهذا العدد‪.‬‬
‫حدثنا عن بداياته في العمل التطوعي‬
‫إنها شخصية قيادية ومكافحة وطموحة ولديها طاقة‬ ‫الذي امتد ألكثر من ‪ 10‬أعوام قائال‪:‬‬
‫شبابية كبرية‪ ،‬ولديها أيضا أفكار وطموحات كثرية‬ ‫حيايت التطوعية بدأت مع إعصار جونو‪ ،‬وأذكر‬
‫تسعى لتحقيقها‪ ،‬مارست العمل التطوعي ألكرث‬ ‫وقتها أين كنت يف سنوات دراستي األخرية حيث‬
‫من ‪ 12‬عاماً‪ ،‬تحب العمل التطوعي الذي يسري‬ ‫وقعت عيناي عىل إعالن من جمعية دار العطاء‬
‫بخطى واضحة وسليمة‪ ،‬أما اهتامماتها فتنصب‬ ‫تبحث فيه عن متطوعني‪ ،‬فتواصلت معهم‬
‫عىل األيتام واألرامل واألرس املعرسة واملسنني‬ ‫أضاف لي العمل التطوعي‬ ‫وأصبحت واحدا من املتطوعني الذين كانوا يف‬
‫وأيضاً ذوي االحتياجات الخاصة‪ ،‬تعمل يف كل ما‬ ‫امليدان وقت األنواء املناخية‪ ،‬فأذكر تعاوين يف‬
‫اإلحساس بالمسؤولية‬ ‫تنظيف الشوارع ومشاركتي يف توصيل املؤونة‬
‫يفيد املجتمع ويزيد من ازدهاره‪ ،‬وقد قامت بتنظيم‬
‫(مسرية يف حب األجداد) يف ديسمرب الفائت تقديرا‬ ‫االجتماعية ليس فقط على‬ ‫للمنازل واألماكن املترضرة‪ ،‬وقتها أحسست بأين‬
‫إنسان ذو أهمية لنفيس ولجميع من حويل من‬
‫نطاق المجتمع بل أيضا على‬ ‫مجتمع وأفراد‪ ،‬ومن ذلك الوقت وأنا أبحث عن أي‬
‫فرصة للتطوع يف كل مكان وزمان‪ ،‬وقد عملت‬
‫االجتامعية واملتطوعة مريم بني عرابة يف حوار‬ ‫نطاق األسرة واألصدقاء‬ ‫كمتطوع يف عدد من الجمعيات واملؤسسات‬
‫تكشفه السطور القادمة‪..‬‬ ‫كجمعية دار العطاء والجمعية العامنية للرسطان‬
‫وجمعية الرحمة وجمعية املرأة العامنية وغريهم‬
‫عن سبب اهتمامها بتمكين المرأة‬ ‫الكثري‪.‬‬
‫األرمة حدثتنا قائلة‪:‬‬ ‫وأضاف‪ :‬لقد أضاف يل العمل التطوعي‬
‫أسعى لتحقيق تغيري يف فكر وثقافة املجتمع‬ ‫اإلحساس باملسؤولية االجتامعية ليس فقط‬
‫وتحقيق الكفاءة الذاتية يف إيجاد حياة مستقرة‬ ‫عىل نطاق املجتمع بل أيضا عىل نطاق األرسة‬
‫لألرملة‪ ،‬يف يوم املرأة العامنية قمنا بتدشني مسمى‬ ‫واألصدقاء واألقارب وكل املحيطني يب‪.‬‬
‫(سيدة العطاء) الذي أطلقناه عىل املرأة األرملة‬
‫وذلك يف حفل أقيم بإرشاف هيئة املؤسسات‬ ‫وأضاف قائال‪:‬‬
‫الصغرية واملتوسطة «ريادة»‪.‬‬ ‫املجتمع العامين أصبح مجتمعا متفتحا ويتميز‬
‫أفراده بالعطاء ‪ ،‬وهذا ليس بالجديد عىل الشعب‬
‫لقد جاءتني فكرة (سيدة العطاء) لتمكني األرملة‬ ‫العامين الذي ينتمي ملجتمع متكاتف ومتامسك‬
‫من االندماج والعمل يف املجتمع من خالل االعتامد‬ ‫ومتعاون يف كل األحوال‪ ،‬إال أنه ‪-‬ومن وجهة نظري‪-‬‬
‫عىل نفسها دون اللجوء إىل اآلخرين‪ ،‬لتساهم بذلك‬ ‫أرى أن العمل التطوعي يف السلطنة يحتاج إىل‬
‫يف إيجاد أرسة منتجة تعتمد عىل نفسها لتخفف من‬ ‫مزيد من التطوير‪ ،‬فطاقة الشباب كبرية وقدراتهم‬
‫مسؤولية الدولة ولتساعد يف بناء مستقبل أبنائها‪.‬‬ ‫متجددة إال أنهم بحاجة إىل مزيد من التدريب يف‬
‫وتقوم فكرة التمكني عىل تعليمها مهن متعددة‬ ‫هذا املجال‪ ،‬كام أرى أن التطوع الفكري ال يقل‬
‫كالخياطة والطبخ وصناعة البخور والعطور‪ ،‬باإلضافة‬ ‫أهمية عن التطوع املادي‪ ،‬فيجب أن يكون هناك‬
‫إىل بعض املهن التقنية وطرق التسويق لتكون‬ ‫متطوعون ليس فقط بالجهد واملادة بل أيضا‬
‫امرأة معطاءة تلبي احتياجاتها واحتياجات أبنائها دون‬ ‫باملساهمة يف التطور الفكري لألفراد‪.‬‬

‫معالي العسعوسي‪ ..‬ذهبت إلى اليمن لدراسة‬
‫مشروع تجاري فأنقذت أكثر من ‪ 120‬ألف أسرة‬
‫الصحـة حتـى عـام ‪ 2010‬حيـث بـدأت الحـرب‬
‫األهليـة اليمنيـة‪ ،‬ورغـم ذلـك مل تفكـر يف‬
‫العـودة للكويـت بـل بـدأت نشـاطا إغاثيـا جديـدا‬
‫للمترضريـن من الحرب‪,‬انضمت بعدها لجمعية‬
‫«العـون املبـارش» وأصبحـت املسـؤولة عـن‬
‫مرشوعاتهـم يف اليمـن‪ ،‬مثـل حمـالت مكافحـة‬
‫العمـى التـي عالجـوا بهـا أكـرث مـن ‪ 24‬ألـف فـرد‪.‬‬
‫شـاركت العسـعويس يف العديـد مـن‬
‫املبـادرات واملشـاريع التـي كانـت ومازالـت تؤثـر‬
‫يف املجتمـع اليمنـي‪ ،‬حيـث قامـت بتنفيـذ ‪15‬‬
‫مرشوعـا مائيـا اسـتفاد منهـا أكـرث مـن ‪ 45‬ألـف‬
‫شـخص‪ ،‬كـام نظمـت ‪ 30‬حملـة إغاثيـة ألكـرث‬
‫مـن ‪ 250‬ألـف شـخص‪ ،‬ووفـرت أكـرث مـن ‪600‬‬
‫منحـة دراسـية‪ ،‬وسـاهمت يف متكـني أكـرث مـن‬
‫ألـف أرسة‪.‬‬
‫حصـدت معـايل العسـعويس أكـرب جائـزة‬
‫عربيـة للمبـادرات الخرييـة بفوزهـا و‪ 4‬أشـخاص‬
‫آخريـن بجائـزة «صنـاع األمـل» يف عـام ‪2017‬‬
‫وذلـك عـن إسـهاماتها التطوعيـة اإلنسـانية يف‬
‫اليمـن‪ ،‬وهـي املبـادرة األكـرب مـن نوعهـا عربيـا‬
‫لتكريـم أصحـاب العطاء يف الوطـن العريب التي‬
‫جـرت يف ديب وفـازت بهـا نـوال الصـويف‪ ،‬وفاجـأ‬
‫الشـيخ محمـد بـن راشـد آل مكتـوم‪ ،‬الـذي قـدم‬
‫املبـادرة‪ ،‬الجمهـور بـأن املتسـابقني الخمسـة‬
‫الذيـن وصلـوا للمراحـل النهائيـة هـم فائـزون‪،‬‬
‫وكانـت العسـويس واحـدة منهـم‪.‬‬
‫تركـت حيـاة الرفاهيـة ورغـد العيـش يف وطنهـا‬
‫الكويـت باحثـة عـن السـعادة يف تأمـني حيـاة‬
‫علي الغامدي‪ ..‬سعودي يرعى أكثر من ‪ 7000‬طفل و‬
‫اآلخريـن يف اليمـن‪ ،‬إنهـا املتطوعـة الكويتيـة‬
‫ومديـرة مكتـب جمعية العون املبـارش يف اليمن‬
‫الدكتـورة معـايل العسـعويس التـي تعـد منوذجـا‬
‫نـادرا يف قـوة اإلرادة والعطـاء‪ ،‬حيـث اسـتطاعت‬
‫ما شاهدته العسعوسي على‬ ‫أن تـرتك وطنهـا ألنهـا شـعرت بـأن هنـاك مـن‬
‫أرض الواقع جعلها تؤسس‬ ‫يحتـاج إليهـا يف وطـن آخـر وفضلـت أن تعيـش‬
‫مبادرة «تمكين» التي تحولت‬ ‫يف مناطـق خطـرة يف اليمـن تحـت قصـف‬
‫الصواريـخ والقذائـف لتمـد يـد العـون ملسـاعدة‬
‫إلى مؤسسة تنموية تحمل‬
‫املحتاجـني والتخفيـف مـن آالمهـم وذلـك تحت‬
‫على عاتقها مهمة اإلسهام‬ ‫شـعار «املسـتقبل الينتظـر املرتدديـن»‪.‬‬
‫في االرتقاء بنوعية حياة أفضل‬ ‫حصـدت العديـد مـن الجوائـز تقديـرا ً لجهودهـا‬
‫للمجتمع بشكل عام والمرأة‬ ‫الخرييـة والتطوعيـة كـام اختـريت ضمـن قامئـة‬
‫أقـوى ‪ 100‬امـرأة عربية وسـفرية لألعامل الخريية‬
‫واألطفال بشكل خاص‬
‫العامليـة بعـد أن نجحـت يف تغيـري حيـاة أكرث من‬ ‫لألطفـال املصابـني مبـرض نقـص املناعـة‪،‬‬
‫‪ 120‬ألف إنسـان تغيريا ً جذرياً ومساعدتهم طبياً‬
‫وعلميـاً ليصبحـوا منتجـني يف مجتمعاتهـم‪،‬‬
‫تؤسـس مبـادرة «متكني» يف العـام ‪ 2007‬التي‬ ‫لقبـت بسـفرية الخـري وصانعـة السـعادة‪.‬‬
‫تحولت إىل مؤسسـة تنمويـة تحمل عىل عاتقها‬ ‫درسـت معـايل العسـعويس إدارة األعـامل يف‬
‫مهمـة اإلسـهام يف االرتقـاء بنوعيـة حيـاة أفضل‬ ‫جامعـة فرجينيـا األمريكيـة‪ ،‬وذهبـت إىل اليمـن‬
‫للمجتمـع بشـكل عـام واملـرأة واألطفـال بشـكل‬ ‫عـام ‪ 2007‬لتقييـم مـرشوع تجاري عىل أسـاس‬
‫خـاص مـن خـالل إنشـاء املشـاريع التنمويـة بـال‬ ‫أنهـا دولـة تعيـش يف رغـد الحيـاة إال أنهـا فوجئـت‬
‫أهـداف ربحيـة‪ ،‬وبدأت بعـدد أرس محدود هو ‪50‬‬ ‫بـأن الوضـع هنـاك مأسـاوي وذلـك قبـل أن تبـدأ‬
‫أرسة لتصـل حاليـا إىل ‪ 120‬ألـف أرسة‪.‬‬ ‫الحـرب هنـاك‪.‬‬
‫بـدأ اهتاممهـا بالتعليـم‪ ،‬ثـم انتقلـت ملجـال‬ ‫مـا شـاهدته العسـعويس عـىل األرض جعلها‬
‫‪ 2000‬أسرة أفريقية بجهود شخصية‬
‫‪ .‬نـت ‪ ،‬حيـث تحـدث عـن مصـادر متويلـه لهـذه‬
‫املشـاريع التـي كانت من البنـوك حيث يقوم بأخذ‬
‫قروض بنكية يقوم بسـدادها عىل ‪ 4‬سـنوات وما‬
‫أن ينتهـي قـرض يبـدأ اآلخـر وهكـذا إىل أن وجـد‬
‫نفسـه يرعـى أكـرث مـن ‪ 7000‬طفـل‪ ،‬وأكـرث مـن‬
‫‪ 2000‬أرسة‪ ،‬وتجـاوز عـدد دور األيتـام التـي أقامهـا‬
‫‪ 21‬دارا‪ ،‬وآخـر مشـاريعه كان عبـارة عن عيادة طبية‬
‫لعـالج الفقـراء واأليتام مجانـا‪ ،‬حيث يقوم عدد من‬
‫املتطوعـني بتشـغيلها‪.‬‬
‫وأشـار الغامـدي‪« :‬أفكـر يف إنشـاء دار إيـواء‬
‫علـام أن عـدد املشـاريع التـي قمـت بتنفيذهـا من‬
‫‪ 2015‬إىل ‪ 2018‬يبلـغ قرابـة ‪ 28‬مرشوعـا خرييـا‬
‫وإغاثيـا»‪.‬‬
‫الجديـر بالذكـر إن الغامـدي مل يتلـق الدعـم‬
‫واملسـاعدة مـن أي جهـة بـل تطـوع للعمـل‬
‫مبفـرده مبسـاعدة عـدد مـن املتطوعـني يف تلك‬
‫البلـدان‪ ،‬باإلضافـة إىل أنـه دامئـا مـا يتحـدث عـن‬
‫دعـم أرستـه املكونـة مـن زوجتـه وبناتـه وابنـه‪،‬‬
‫حيـث أنهـم يسـاندونه يف كل أفـكاره وتوجهاتـه‬
‫العطائيـة‪.‬‬
‫مبادرات عالمية‬ ‫‪16‬‬
‫اهتـم السـعودي عـيل الغامـدي أو «أبـو األيتـام»‬
‫كـام يلقبـه أقاربـه بفئـة األيتـام منـذ أكـرث مـن‬
‫‪ 17‬عامـا‪ ،‬حيـث زار العديـد مـن الـدول األفريقيـة‬
‫بهـدف رعايـة األيتـام ورفـع مسـتوى الوعـي‬
‫لديهـم ليتجـاوزوا شـعور اليُتـم‪ ،‬وليعتمـدوا عـىل‬
‫أنفسـهم‪ ،‬وذلـك عـرب توفـري الغـذاء وامللبـس‬
‫أفكر في إنشاء دار إيواء‬ ‫حتـى يسـتطيع اليتيـم بنـاء حياته بشـكل متكامل‬
‫لألطفال المصابين بمرض نقص‬ ‫واالهتـامم بتعليمـه‪ ،‬فقـد وجـد الغامـدي ‪-‬خـالل‬
‫المناعة‪ ،‬علما أن عدد المشاريع‬ ‫زياراتـه‪ -‬أن أغلب سـكان هذه الـدول يفتقدون إىل‬
‫التي قمت بتنفيذها من‬ ‫العلـم والوعـي واملعرفـة‪ ،‬باإلضافـة إىل أن نسـبة‬
‫كبـرية منهـم مل يتمكنـوا مـن إنهـاء مراحلهـم‬
‫‪ 2015‬إلى ‪ 2018‬يبلغ قرابة ‪28‬‬ ‫التعليميـة‪.‬‬
‫مشروعا خيريا وإغاثيا‬ ‫بـدأ الغامـدي مشـوار العطـاء منـذ أكـرث مـن ‪17‬‬
‫عامـا وذلـك عندمـا فكـر هـو وزوجتـه يف احتضـان‬
‫طفل يتيم إال أنه مل يكن عىل دراية كافية بالتعامل‬
‫معـه‪ ،‬عندهـا قـرر البحـث عـن هـذا األمـر يف عـدد‬
‫آسـيا‪ ،‬ثـم تحـول بعدهـا إىل أفريقيـا حيـث زار مـا‬ ‫مـن الثقافـات املختلفة فزار الكثـري من دول رشق‬
‫يقـارب ‪ 28‬دولـة أفريقيـة ‪.‬‬ ‫آيس كالفلبـني‪ ،‬وهونـج كونـج‪ ،‬وماليزيـا‪ ،‬وكوريـا‬
‫فقـد قـرر الغامـدي أن تكـون له بصمـة يف عامل‬ ‫الجنوبيـة‪ ،‬وقـام بجمع املعلومـات املطلوبة إىل‬
‫العطـاء خاصـة وأنـه عـريب مسـلم يعتـز بعروبتـه‬ ‫أن أصبـح مـن املهتمـني بالعمـل يف هـذا األمـر‬
‫‪-‬عـىل حـد قولـه‪ -‬يف حـواره الـذي أجراه مـع العربية‬ ‫فعمـل لــ ‪ 4‬سـنوات عـىل رعايـة األيتـام يف رشق‬

‫نهضوا بعد الدمار والحروب بالعلم وأصبحوا‬
‫اليوم يرتبعون عىل عرش قيادة العامل‪ ،‬لذا‬
‫عليكم أن تجعلوا علمكم لخدمة وطنكم‪،‬‬
‫نريد أن ننهض بهذا الوطن وليكن منافساً بإذن‬
‫الله لدول عاملية كسنغافورة وماليزيا واليابان‪،‬‬
‫فالعلم يوجد لنا أفكارا ً وتنوعاً يف دعم االقتصاد‬
‫واملصادر واملشاريع الحيوية فالزمن يتغري‬
‫حيث تحدث جمعة عن أحالمه قائال‪ :‬أمتنى أن‬
‫أجد وظيفة إلكرتونية ليك أدعم بها نفيس وحتى‬
‫استطيع أن أمني مهارايت سواء يف الطقس أو‬
‫أتمنى أن أجد وظيفة‬
‫الجرافيك ألمتكن من بناء مستقبيل فهذا حق‬
‫يل كأي إنسان طبيعي‪.‬‬
‫وأضاف الحق أمتنى أن أحصل عىل كريس‬
‫جمعة والحق‬
‫كهربايئ ينطوي ويصبح مثل الحقيبة يك‬

‫وعلينا مواكبتهُ‪.‬‬
‫وأضاف أخوه الحق قائال‪ :‬عىل الجهات‬
‫املعنية أن تقف مع فئة ذوي االحتياجات الخاصة‬
‫وذلك بتوفري وظائف لهم باإلضافة إىل رضورة‬
‫مساعدتهم يف حياتهم املعيشية كاملساهمة‬
‫يف دفع الفواتري الشهرية للامء والكهرباء‬
‫واالنرتنت لهم‪ ،‬وأيضا نطالب بوجود تسهيالت‬
‫وتخفيضات يف رسوم تأمينات السيارات‬
‫وأُطالب املؤسسات والدوائر الحكومية‬
‫والخاصة بتهيئة املداخل ليكون بها مصاعد حتى‬
‫نتمكن من الدخول بكراسينا وكذلك الفنادق‬
‫والشقق وخصوصا يف محافظة مسقط‪،‬‬
‫وامتنى أن يتم تخصيص دورات مياه بنوعيها‬
‫ألن هناك أشخاص من ذوي االحتياجات الخاصة‬
‫يستخدمون النوعني‪.‬‬
‫الناصري‪ ..‬أخوان‬
‫إلكترونية لكي أدعم بها‬ ‫يسهل حمله ويكون وزنه خفيفا وسهل التحميل‬
‫نفسي وحتى استطيع أن‬ ‫يف السيارة‪ ،‬حيث علق قائال‪ :‬إن الكريس الحايل‬
‫الذي استخدمه ثقيل الوزن وال ميكن تحميله‬
‫أنمي مهاراتي‬ ‫إال عن طريق الحافلة واملشكلة يف الحافلة أن‬
‫الوقود غايل وبالتايل تكون تكلفة تحريك كبرية‬
‫لذلك امتنى توفري الكريس‪ ،‬وأيضاً حلمي أن أبني‬
‫مجلسا خاصا بالضيوف ويكون قريبا من املنزل‬
‫ألن املجلس الحايل صغري وداخل املنزل ونحن‬
‫‪-‬ولله الحمد‪ -‬يأتينا الكثري من الزوار من مختلف‬
‫محافظات السلطنة ومن خارج السلطنة أيضا‪.‬‬
‫األخوان جمعة والحق يوجهان رسالة‬
‫للمجتمع واألفراد من خالل «العطاء»‬
‫حيث يوجه جمعة رسالته للمجتمع قائال‪ :‬إن‬
‫األمم تتقدم بالعلم‪ ،‬فانظروا ألوروبا واليابان‬

‫حافلة مهيأة لنا مبصعد خاص للكرايس‪ ،‬لكن‬
‫اآلن ‪-‬ولله الحمد‪ -‬توفرت لنا هذه اإلمكانيات‪،‬‬
‫فالشكر الجزيل لوزارة التنمية االجتامعية وديوان‬
‫البالط السلطاين‪.‬‬
‫الشيقة التي تثبت أن اإلعاقة يف العقول وليست‬ ‫خمسة من اإلخوة واألخوات شاء الله تعاىل‬
‫يف األبدان‪..‬‬ ‫أن يولدوا بإعاقة تحول دون تحركهم كباقي‬
‫أقرانهم‪ ،‬ظلوا حبيسني املنزل لسنوات حيث‬
‫بداية تطرقنا إلى أهم التحديات التي‬ ‫إنه من الصعب حملهم‪ ،‬كام أنه مل يكن يف‬
‫واجهتهما في مشوار حياتهما‬ ‫تلك الفرتة عربات مخصصة ملثل حاالتهم‬

‫بالـتميـز‬
‫مواهب وأعمال يقومان بها في الوقت‬ ‫حيث تحدث جمعة قائال‪ :‬أكرب التحديات التي‬
‫الحالي‬ ‫واجهتني هي الدراسة فلم تكن املدارس مهيأة‬
‫يهتم جمعة باألخبار التقنية والفضاء وهو‬ ‫للمعاقني يف مطلع التسعينيات‪ ،‬وكان من‬
‫متابع ألخبار الطقس ومحلل النامذج العددية‬ ‫الصعب نقيل من املنزل إىل املدرسة وأيضاً ألنه‬
‫ومربمج للهواتف ويحاول يف الوقت الحايل‬ ‫مل تكن هناك يف ذلك الوقت كرايس كهربائية‬
‫تعلم الجرافيك‪.‬‬ ‫متحركة من أجل الجلوس والتنقل‪ ،‬اضف إىل‬
‫أما الحق فترتكز موهبته يف التصميم‬ ‫ذلك عدم توفر وسائل التعلم املخصصة‬
‫واملونتاج وبرمجة األنظمة لألجهزة اإللكرتونية‬ ‫للمعوقني‪ ،‬ولكن ‪-‬الحمد لله‪ -‬استطعت تجاوز‬
‫خاصة الحاسب اآليل‪ ،‬ويعمل حاليا يف قناة‬ ‫املشكلة بفضل الله ثم مبساعدة أهيل حيث‬
‫االستقامة الفضائية مرشفا عىل رشيط‬ ‫قاموا بتعليمي وكان عمري ال يتجاوز ‪ ١٠‬أعوام‪.‬‬
‫الرسائل السفيل عىل الشاشة باإلضافة إىل‬ ‫وتحدث أخيه الحق عن التحديات التي واجهته‬
‫عمله التطوعي يف موقع بصرية لسامحة الشيخ‬ ‫هو أيضا قائال‪ :‬الدراسة والتنقل من أهم‬
‫العالمة أحمد الخلييل‪.‬‬ ‫التحديات التي واجهتني أيضا ولكن بفضل من‬
‫الله ثم مبساعدة األهل تعلمنا القراءة والكتابة‪،‬‬
‫لدى جمعة والحق أحالم مستقبلية‬ ‫وكنا نواجه مشكلة حني نرغب يف الخروج‬
‫كبيرة يسعيان لتحقيقها‬ ‫من املنزل فلم يكن لدينا كريس متحرك وال‬
‫يستطيعون من خاللها الخروج ملشاهدة الحياة‬
‫خارج أسوار املنزل‪ ،‬اثنان من اإلخوة و‪ 3‬أخوات‬
‫عاشوا جميعا يف منزل واحد بال عمل وال تعليم‪،‬‬
‫ورغم اإلعاقة وعدم ذهابهم للمدرسة إال أنهم‬
‫استطاعوا جميعا أن يتعلموا القراءة والكتابة‬
‫وأيضا تعلموا بعضا من كلامت اللغة اإلنجليزية‪،‬‬
‫حاولوا ذلك دون مساعدة من أحد فأصبح لكل‬
‫منهم ميول ومهارات يف مجال محدد‪.‬‬
‫الحق وجمعة أوالد عيل النارصي من والية‬
‫عربي أخّان استطاعا االنتصار عىل إعاقتهام‬
‫واستطاعا أن يخرجا من املنزل للمرة األوىل‬
‫يف العام ‪ ،1999‬ورغم عدم تليقهام للتعليم‬
‫يف املدارس إال أنهام رفضا أن يكونا بال قيمة‬
‫فأحدهام اهتم بأحوال الطقس والخرائط‪،‬‬
‫واآلخر متيز يف التصميم واإلرشاف عىل املواقع‬
‫اإللكرتونية‪ ،‬العطاء حاورتهام لتعرض قصتهام‬

‫من الحكم‬
‫العطائية‬
‫يقول ابن عطاء السكندري رحمه الله‪:‬‬
‫«الفكرة رساج القلب‪ ،‬فإذا ذهبت‬
‫فال إضائة له» أي أن األفكار مبنزلة‬
‫املصباح للقلب يستيضء بها‪ ،‬ألن بها‬
‫تنجيل حقائق األمور فيظهر الحق من‬
‫الباطل‪ ،‬وتعرف آفات النفس بالتفكر‬
‫يف معائبها ومكائدها‪ ،‬وتعلم مكائد‬
‫الشيطان وغرور الدنيا ونحو ذلك‪،‬‬
‫فإذا ذهبت الفكرة منه (فصار يقلد‬
‫وال يفكر) فال إضاءة له فيكون كالبيت‬
‫املظلم‪.‬‬
‫«إحالتك األعامل عىل وجود الفراغ‬
‫من رعونات النفس»‬
‫أي تأجيلك األعامل الصالحة إىل‬
‫انتظارك الفراغ من أشغال الدنيا يعد‬
‫من رعونات النفس‪ ،‬أي حامقاتها‪ ،‬ملا‬
‫يف ذلك من إيثار الدنيا عىل اآلخرة‪،‬‬
‫وألن أشغال الدنيا ال تنقيض‪.‬‬
‫«الرجاء ما قارنه عمل‪ ،‬وإال فهو‬
‫أمنية»‬
‫الرجاء هو األمل وهو عكس اليأس‪،‬‬
‫واملقصود بالرجاء اطمئنان املؤمن‬
‫إىل رحمة الله تعاىل‪ ،‬وأنه بسبب إميانه‬
‫واطمئنانه لكرم الله تعاىل سيدخل‬
‫الجنة ويبعد عن النار‪.‬‬
‫إن الرجاء الصادق هو ما قارنه عمل‬
‫ألن الرجاء الحقيقي ما كان باعثا عىل‬
‫االجتهاد يف األعامل ومن رجا شيئا‬
‫طلبه‪ ،‬وإال فهو مجرد أمنية ال طائل‬
‫منها وال حقيقة لها‪.‬‬
‫«ما فاتك من عمرك ال عوض له‪..‬‬
‫وما حصل لك منه ال قيمة له»‬
‫أي ما فات من عمرك ال عودة له فإذا‬
‫أفرغته من العمل الصالح فاتك خري‬
‫كثري‪ ،‬وما بقي لك منه ال ميكن وضع‬
‫قيمة له ألنه ال يقدر بثمن لنفاسته‪.‬‬
‫فاإلنسان عندما مينت يكون عطاؤه صادق وكبري‬
‫وال ينتظر رد لهذا العطاء من أحد ولكن كن موقناً‬

‫كنت يف أحدى املرات أقدم محارضة عن‬
‫العطاء يف سكوتلندا فذكرت بأن العطاء فيه‬
‫مناذج فاإلنسان عندما يحب أن يكون أي يشء‬
‫فالبد من وجود القدوة ومنوذج أمامه يحتذي‬
‫به ويقال من راقب الناس مات هامً وأنا أقول‬
‫من راقب الناجحني مل يعش غامً فالسلطان‬
‫قابوس هو رمز العطاء ففي عام ‪١٩٧٠‬م القى‬
‫خطاب فقط فيام يقارب ثالث دقائق ووعد فيه‬
‫بأن يعيش العامنيون حياة كرمية وسعداء وبعد‬
‫كل هذه السنوات بالفعل عشنا هذه الحياة‬
‫فهو ال يتحدث كثريا ً بل يفعل كثريا ً فاإلنسان‬
‫املعطاء يجعل أفعاله تتحدث عنه فهناك أفعال‬
‫تتحدث عن اإلنسان سواء كان حارض أو غائب‬
‫يف الحياة وهذا من أروع أنواع العطاء ‪..‬‬
‫ليك تعطي البد أن تعطي أجمل ما لديك‬
‫فمن أجمل أنواع العطاء أن تُعلم فالبد أن يكون‬
‫شعارنا « كان هنا وترك أثر « فعندما ت ُعلم‬
‫شخص ما لينقل هذا العلم لشخص أخر‬
‫والشخص األخر ينقله لشخص أخر وهذا ما‬
‫يسمى بعطاء يولد عطاء أخر وحتى إذا قدرت‬
‫الله منت أو مرضت أو رمبا رحلت هناك عداد‬
‫يعمل عنك فمن ترك علم وإن مات فهو مل‬
‫ميت؛ فقد رأى شخص جنازة فسأل هل مات ؟‬
‫تعجبوا من سؤاله وقالوا ‪ :‬أال ترى جنازته !! قال‬
‫‪ :‬أعني هل ترك علم ؟ قالوا ‪ :‬نعم قال‪ :‬إذا ً هو‬
‫مل ميت ‪.‬‬
‫ولكن إن سألنا أنفسنا من هو الشخص‬
‫الذي ال يعطي ؟ هو ذلك الذي يشعر بالنقص؛‬
‫عزيزي القارئ بأن هذا العطاء سيعود ألنه هناك‬
‫استثامر مع الله – سبحانه وتعاىل ‪. -‬‬
‫وختاماً أيها القارئ املعطاء إذا كان للعطاء‬
‫لنا نصيب وافر فيه‪.‬‬

‫من اسمه‬
‫شكك بقدرايت « ‪ ،‬وهذا اإلنسان كان حلمه أن‬ ‫قرأت منذ زمن بأن لألشياء نصيب من أسامئها‬
‫يحفظ القرآن الكريم كامالً وقد حفظ القرآن‬ ‫وأدركت ذلك حقيقة عندما متعنت باسم‬
‫الكريم كامالً واليوم هو معيد يف الجامعة‬ ‫(العطاء) فأكاد أجزم هنا بأن االسم هو من‬
‫األمريكية يف ديب ‪ ،‬و هذا اإلنسان كان أحد‬ ‫أخذ منه وليس العكس فكل حرف فيه ينطق‬
‫أحالمه أن يؤلف كتاب واآلن لديه كتاب بعنوان «‬ ‫به فدعنا أيها القارئ الكريم أن نتأمل بكل حرف‬
‫قاهر املستحيل « هذا اإلنسان غري أشياء كثرية‬ ‫فيه‪:‬‬
‫يف حيايت كفلسفة وكمفهوم للعطاء فأمتنى‬ ‫ع‪ -:‬عطاؤك رس بقاؤك‬
‫يف ‪.‬‬
‫أن يغري فيكم مثلام غري ّ‬ ‫ط‪:‬ـ طبّع نفسك عىل العطاء‬
‫والعطاء ال يحتاج إال ليشء واحد فقط وهو‬ ‫ا‪:‬ـ أعطي كلام سنحت لك الفرصة حتى إذا‬
‫أن تؤمن بأنك شخص قادر عىل العطاء فأتذكر‬ ‫كان بدموعك أو ابتسامتك ال تعلم أي قلب‬
‫يف أحدى السنوات أثناء تأديتي للعمرة وأمام‬ ‫سيشفى بعد هذا العطاء‬
‫الكعبة رأيت مشهدين يخترصان معنى الحياة‬ ‫ء‪:‬ـ أ إذ كان ما كان وأعطى سيخلده الزمان‬
‫والعطاء األول عىل يساري أب يطوف حول‬ ‫فإذا جعلنا من كل حرف من حروفه منهجاً لنا‬
‫الكعبة وعىل كتفه أبنه الصغري والثاين عىل‬ ‫ألصبح العطاء منا ولنا وفينا‪.‬‬
‫مييني أم مقعدة عىل كريس متحرك وأبنها‬ ‫فالعطاء فلسفة ورقي ومشاعر تذهب‬
‫وتعود لإلنسان مبارشة لحظة عطاؤه‪ ،‬ويعتقد‬
‫البعض خطأً بأن هناك ما يعيقه أو مينعه من‬
‫أن يكون أحد عنارص منظومة العطاء يف هذه‬
‫الحياة سواء بشكل جامعي أو فردي‪ ،‬وهنا‬
‫سأرسد موقف رمبا سيؤكد لكل من يقرأ‬
‫حرويف هذه بأننا كلنا قادرون أن نعطي حتى‬
‫بأبسط املقومات فمثالً هناك شخص له‬
‫صوالت وجوالت يف هذا املجال وهو عامر أبو‬

‫أن يدخل كلية اإلعالم وقد دخل كليه اإلعالم‬
‫وتخرج األول عىل الدفعة واألول عىل الجامعة‬

Giving

One day I read that things have some share of their
names. I realized this fact when I looked into the
word “Giving”. In this context, I am sure that every
letter in the Arabic word for “Giving” indicates some
share of its meaning.
Giving is a philosophy and a feeling that comes
back to the person immediately when they do the
act of Giving. Some people believe wrongly that
there is something that hinders or prevents them
from being a component of the system of Giving in
this life, either collectively or individually.
Here, I will quote a story that will probably
emphasize to everyone who reads this article
that we are all able to give even with the simplest
possibilities. It is the story of a person who has a long
history in this field. Ammar Buqas (a disabled young
man who cannot move any part of his body except
his eyes) taught me a lesson: “a person does not
need to be long, fat or strong or have a loud voice to
be able to give, but one can give even with the least
possibilities.” I had a TV interview with him about
six years ago in the program “You as You Want”.
Before, I thought that when it is said that a person
is disabled, it is a physical disability. But after I knew
this story I discovered that disability is in mind, not
body. When he was young, Ammar Buqas had
a dream to be a sports journalist and today he is
a sports journalist. When he was young, he had
another dream to join the College of Media and
he has joined the College of Media and graduated
at the first position on both the college and the
university levels. I was impressed when he said:
“I also got the first position among all people who
doubted my abilities.” He also had a dream to
memorize the Holy Quran and he has memorized
the entire Holy Quran. Today he is a lecturer at the
American University in Dubai. One of his dreams
was to write a book, and it happened as he has
now a book entitled “The Man Who Overcome
the Impossible.” This man changed many things in
my life particularly the philosophy and concept of
Giving. I hope he would change you as he did to me.
Giving needs only one thing - to believe that you
are someone who can give. I remember during the
performance of Umrah sometime ago, and in front
of the Holy Kaaba, I saw two scenes that can shorten
the meaning of life and giving. The first scene was of
a father circling around the Kaaba while bearing his
little son on his shoulder, and the second was of a
mother on a wheelchair being pushed by her son.
Here is giving and there is giving. There is nothing
better than investment, especially if that investment
is guaranteed.

Once while I gave a lecture about Giving in
Scotland, I mentioned that Giving must have
models. When a person likes to become anything,
there must be an example and a model in front
of them to follow. It is said that he who observes
people dies of gloom, but I say that he who observes
successful people does not live in gloom. Sultan
Qaboos is the symbol of Giving. In 1970 he gave
a speech for just three minutes promising that the
Omanis would live a dignified and happy life. After
all these years, we are living the life he described.
He does not speak much but does act so much. A
benevolent person makes their actions talk about
them.
There are some acts that talk about their doers
whether they are present or absent, living or dead,
and this is one of the greatest models of Giving.
In order to give, you should give the best of
what you have. One of the best types of Giving is
to teach others, so that your motto in life becomes
“once he was here and left an impact.” When
you teach someone, they move this knowledge
to another person and the other person moves it
to a third person, and so on, this is called “Giving
that generates Giving”. And if you got sick or even
passed away there would be a counter still working
for you. He who left knowledge after his death did
not die. A person saw a funeral and asked, “Has he
died?” They were surprised by his question and said:
“Do not you see his funeral?!” He said: “I mean, has
he left some knowledge?” They said: “Yes,” he said:
“So, he did not die.”
If we ask a question: who is the person who does
not give? He is the one who feels inferior. When one
feels grateful, his Giving would be sincere and great,
and does not wait any giving back from anyone.
Dear reader, be sure that this Giving will return
because it is an investment with Allah the Almighty.
In conclusion, generous reader, if Giving has
some share of its name, you and me should have an
abundant share in it.

OF IBN ‘ATA’
ALLAH
It was said by Ibn ‘Ata’ Allah Al Iskandari
“May ALLAH be merciful to him” that:
“Thought is the light of heart; if it goes
away, there shall be no lighting source for
it”
He meant that thoughts are as the same
as the lantern for the heart; it is illuminated
by them. Using thought, the facts of things
become crystal clear. So, truth seem clear
from falsehood. Afflictions of the soul are
known through thinking of its flaws and
wiles, learning Satan’s (the Shaitaan’s)
entrapments, the delusion of the life of
the world, etc. If thought goes away from
the heart (thus, it becomes imitating but
not thinking), there shall be no source of
light for it. Thus, it becomes like the dark
house.
“Forwarding deeds to leisure time is of
the impetuosities of the soul”
He meant that postponing good deeds
until you are free from the concerns of the
life of the world is of the impetuosities,
i.e. follies, of the soul as this is a kind
of preferring the life of the world to the
afterlife. This is also because the concerns
of the life of the world have no end; no
one fulfills all their needs of the life of the
world.
“What passes of your life is
uncompensated … And what is remaining
of it is invaluable”
He meant that what passed of your life
is irretrievable, so if you emptied it from
the good deed, you would have missed
lots of goodness. And what is left to you of
your life can not be given a value because
it is invaluable due to its preciousness.

Guma’a talked about his dreams
saying:
«I hope to find a job in the field of electronics
Guma’a and Laheq to support myself so that I can develop my
skills, whether in weather or graphics, so that
I can build my future. This is my right as a
Al Nasseri… natural person.»
As for Laheq, he wishes to have an electric
chair that can be folded and become like a bag
two brothers
to be easy to carry and load in the car. He said:
«The current chair that I use is heavy and can
be loaded only in a bus and the problem in the
who bus is that fuel is expensive. My dream is to
build a special Majlis (sitting area) for guests
provided it is close to our house because the
current Majlis is small and inside the house
and we have many visitors who come from
different governorates of the Sultanate and
from outside the Sultanate as well.”
Guma’a and Laheq send a message
to the society and individuals
through Al-Atta’a.
Guma’a sends his message to the society,
saying: “Nations advance by knowledge.
Look at Japan which has risen after destruction
and wars by science and knowledge, and now
it is on the throne of the world›s leadership.
You have to put your knowledge at the

Laheq said: “We urge the concerned
authorities to stand with the people of special
needs by providing them with jobs as well
as to assist them in their living, through,
for example, contributing to the payment
of their monthly bills for water, electricity
and the Internet. We also ask for facilities
and reductions in car insurance fees. I ask
the government and private institutions and
departments as well as hotels and buildings,
especially in Muscat Governorate, to prepare
the entrances with slopes so that our chairs
can enter. I hope also they allocate toilets of
both types because people of special needs
use both types.”

They are five brothers and sisters who were
born with a disability that prevents them
from moving like other peers. They have
been confined to their house for years. It
was difficult to carry them, and there were
no vehicles designed for their cases to enable
them to go out to watch life outside the walls
of the house. They are two brothers and three
sisters who lived in one house without work
or education. Despite their disability and not
going to school, they all learned to read and
write and also learned some English. They did
it without anyone’s help, so each of them has
their own tendencies and skills in different
areas.
Laheq and Guma’a, sons of Ali Al Nasseri
from the Wilayat of Ibri, are the two brothers
who were able to overcome their disability
and were able to leave the house for the first
time in 1999. Although they were not able to
receive education in schools, they refused to
be worthless. One of them was interested in
weather conditions and maps and the other
excelled in website design and supervision. Al
Atta’a had an interview with them to present
their interesting story which proves that
disability is in minds and not in bodies.
First we addressed the most
important challenges they faced in
the course of their lives.
Guma’a said: “The biggest challenge I
faced was study. Schools were not ready for
disabled children in the early 1990s. It was
difficult for me to move from home to school
as there were no mobile electric chairs to use.
In addition there were no learning tools for
disabled children. But I was able to overcome
the problem thanks to Allah and with the help
of my family.”
His brother, Laheq, talked about the
challenges he faced, saying: “Study and
moving were the most important challenges
I faced, but thanks to Allah and with the
help of my parents, we learned to read and
write. We had a problem when we wanted
to get out of the house as we did not have
a wheelchair or a vehicle equipped with a
special lift for chairs. But now, thank Allah, we
have these possibilities. We extend our thanks
to the Ministry of Social Development and the
Diwan of Royal Court.”
Talents and activities they do at
present.
Guma’a is interested in the news of
technology, space and weather. He is
numerical model analyst and phone
programmer and currently tries to learn
graphics.
As for Laheq, his talent is focused on design,
montage and programming of electronic
devices especially computer. He currently
works for Al-Istiqama TV Channel, where
he supervises the lower message bar on the
screen, in addition to his volunteer work.
Guma’a and Laheq have great
future dreams to pursue.

Ali Al-Ghamdi ...
A Saudi who sponsors more than 7,000 children
and 2,000 African families with personal efforts
The Saudi man, Ali Al-Ghamdi, or the “Father
of Orphans”, as his relatives call him, has been
caring for orphans for more than 17 years.
He visited many African countries in order to
care for orphans and raise their awareness to
overcome the feeling of orphanhood and to rely
on themselves by providing food and clothing.
During his visits, Al-Ghamdi found that the
majority of the inhabitants of these countries
lack knowledge and awareness, in addition to
the fact that a large proportion of them have
not been able to finish their educational stages.
Al-Ghamdi began his march of giving more
than 17 years ago, when he and his wife
thought of embracing an orphaned child. He
did not know how to deal with this orphan,
so he decided to look for this matter in a
number of different cultures. He visited many
East Asian countries such as Philippine, Hong
Kong, Malaysia and South Korea. He collected
the information that he needed and became
interested in working in this field. He worked
for 4 years caring for orphans in East Asia and
then moved to Africa where he visited about 28
African countries.
Al-Ghamdi decided to have a fingerprint
in the world of philanthropy, especially as
he is a Muslim and Arab man who cherishes
his Arabism as he said in his interview with Al
Arabia TV channel. In this interview, he talked
about the source of funding for these projects,
which were banks, where he takes bank loans
repayable over 4 years. Once a bank loan
ends another one begins, and so on, until
he found himself caring for more than 7000
children, and more than 2000 families. The
number of orphanages that he built exceeded
21 orphanages, and the last of his projects was
a medical clinic for the treatment of the poor
and orphans free of charge. Some volunteers
operate this clinic.
“I am thinking of setting up a shelter for
children with HIV,” Al-Ghamdi said. “The
number of projects I have implemented from
2015 to 2018 is approximately 28 charitable
and relief projects.”
It is noteworthy that Al-Ghamdi did not
receive any support or assistance from any
party but only volunteered to work alone with
the help of a number of volunteers in those
countries. He always talks about the support of
his family that consist of his wife and daughters
and his son, as they support him in all his
charitable ideas and practices.
Ma’ali Al-Assousi …
went to Yemen to evaluate a commercial project
but saved more than 120 thousand families
She left the life of luxury in her native
country, Kuwait, seeking happiness in
securing the lives of others in Yemen. The
Kuwaiti volunteer and manager of the office
of the Direct Aid Society in Yemen Dr. Ma’ali
Al-Assousi is a rare example of the power of
will and philanthropy. She left her country
because she felt that there were other
people needing her in another country. She
preferred to live in dangerous areas in Yemen
under rocket fire to help those in need and to
ease their pain under the slogan “The Future
does not Wait for the Hesitants.” She won
numerous awards for her philanthropic and
volunteer efforts. She has also been selected
as one of the 100 most powerful Arab
women and an ambassador of international
philanthropy after successfully changing
the lives of more than 120,000 people and
helping them become producers in their
communities. She is called “Ambassador of
Good and Maker of Happiness.”
Ma’ali Al-Assousi studied business
administration at the University of Virginia,
USA, and went to Yemen in 2007 to evaluate
a commercial project there thinking it is a
country living in good spirits. But she was
surprised to find out that the situation there
was tragic before the war began there.
What she saw on the ground prompted
her to establish the “Tamkeen” initiative in
2007, which turned into a developmental
institution with the task of contributing to
the improvement of a better quality of life for
society in general and women and children
in particular through the establishment of
nonprofit development projects. She started
with a limited number of families which was
50 families to reach 120,000 families later
on.
Her interest started in education and then
moved on to health until 2010, when the
Yemeni civil war started. However, she did
not think of returning to Kuwait, but started
a new relief activity for those affected by the
war.
She joined the Direct Aid Society and
became responsible for its projects in Yemen,

including blindness fighting campaigns
where they treated more than 24,000
individuals.
Al-Assousi participated in many initiatives
and projects that have been impacting the
Yemeni society. She implemented 15 water
projects benefiting more than 45,000
people, organized 30 relief campaigns for
more than 250,000 people, provided more
than 600 scholarships, and participated in
empowering more than 1,000 families.
Ma’ali Al-Assousi won the biggest Arab
award for charitable initiatives. Along
with four other people, she won the
“Hopemakers” Award in 2017 for her
volunteer humanitarian contributions in
Yemen. This is the largest Arab initiative to
honor philanthropists in the Arab world. It
was held in Dubai and was won by Nawal
Al-Soufi. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid
Al Maktoum, who presented the initiative,
surprised the public that the five competitors
were winners, and Al-Assousi was one of
them.

Rashed Al Ghafri to Al-Atta’a:
“We have been
created for giving.”
He studied mechanical engineering at the Higher College of Technology and
graduated in 2008. He currently works as the head of the mechanical design
department in an establishment. He loves life and has curiosity to know
everything. He enjoys the spirit of youth and loves exploring and adventure.
He looks for everything that is new and beautiful. He has volunteered in a
large number of associations since 2007. He believes that Allah has created us
in this world for the sake of giving. Engineer Rashid Al-Ghafri is the guest of
this page in this issue.
The first Omani woman to be interested in empowering widows:
Maryam Bani Arabah … The Lady of Giving
“A successful idea I seek to achieve globally”
She is a social activist in the field of humanity. She is the first Omani
woman to adopt and care for the empowerment of widowed women.
She is also a member of the Omani Ski Sports Committee, where she
advises volunteer teams in various fields that care for the community
and the family in general، She has a great interest in marketing,
development and providing everything that is new and innovative.
She cooperated with many small and medium enterprises and some
government agencies.

Al Ghafri told us about his beginnings in
volunteer work, which lasted more than 10
years, saying:
My volunteer life began with the cyclone Gonu
when I was in my last years of study. At that
time I saw an announcement from Dar Al Atta’a
Association looking for volunteers. So, I became
one of the volunteers who were in the field at the
time of the cyclone.
I cooperated in cleaning streets and
participated in delivering supplies to the affected
houses and places. Doing so, I felt that I am a
person of importance to myself and to everyone
around me. Since that time I look for any
opportunity to volunteer everywhere at anytime.
I have volunteered in a number of associations
and institutions such as Dar Al-Atta’a Association,
Oman Cancer Association, Al Rahma Charitable
Association, Omani Women›s Association and
many others. Volunteering has given me a sense
of social responsibility not only on society level
but also on the levels of family, friends, relatives
and everyone around me.
He added:
The Omani society has become an open
society and its members are characterized by
philanthropy and giving. This is not new to
the Omani people as they are a cohesive and
cooperative society.
However, in my view, volunteer work in the
Sultanate needs to be further developed. Young
people›s energy is great and their abilities are
renewable. However, they need more training
in this field. I also believe that intellectual
volunteering is as important as material
volunteering.
There should be volunteers not only with
efforts and materials but also to contribute to the
intellectual development of individuals.
She is a leading and ambitious personality. She
has great youth energy. She has many ideas and
ambitions to pursue. She has volunteered for more
than 12 years. She loves the volunteer work that
proceeds at a clear and sound pace. Her interests
are focused on orphans, widows, needy families,
the elderly and also people with special needs.
She has been working for the benefit of the

Can you tell us why you are interested in
empowering the widowed women?
I seek to make a change in the thinking, culture,
awareness and development of the community
and to achieve self-efficacy in creating a stable
life for widows. On the Omani Women’s Day, we
launched the description “Lady of Giving” which
we gave to the widow women in a ceremony held
under the auspices of the the Public Authority for
SME Development (Riyada).
The idea of “Lady of Giving” aimed to
enable the widow to integrate and work in
society by relying on herself without recourse
to others, thus contributing to the creation
of a productive family that relies on itself and
reduces dependence on the government and to
help build the future of its children. The idea of
empowerment is to teach her many professions
such as sewing, cooking, manufacturing of
incense and perfume, as well as some technical

professions and marketing methods in order to
meet her needs and the needs of her children
without resorting to others, in addition to the
psychological education that will help her in
managing her life in general.
My interest in empowering widowed women

an example for their children and for the society in
which they live. My interest was in empowering
them from the psychological, vocational,
technical and moral aspects through training
workshops to raise their awareness.
Please tell us about Basmat Khair Volunteer
Team.
The team is interested in all categories of society
and works on the principle of “Knowledge Is the
Basis of Development” by contributing to the
development of a new perspective for widowed
women, raising their awareness, as well as caring
for children’s issues, health awareness and all
matters related to poor families and people with
special needs.
We always seek to train and qualify women in
general to make them more aware of how they
can shape their future and go their own way.
What are the limits of your ambition
regarding the empowerment program with
the potentials available to you?
My ambitions go beyond all limits. I aspire to
achieve a lot of achievements in this framework
and achieve the efficiency of excellence by
empowering widowed women worldwide and
seek to make a change in the thought, culture and
development of society.

with disabilities, and encouraging individuals
to launch initiatives then embrace the most

activities, including training and rehabilitation of
volunteers and setting up a number of community-
based initiatives such as “Volunteer with Us”
and “Sada Al-Khair”, whose proceeds go to the
education and rehabilitation of handicapped children
in the Jalan sector in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate
through collection of used clothes in special

of Social Development. Other activities include
finding educational means to reduce the effect of
traffic accidents on children in cooperation with
the UNICEF through books and curricula on Omani
identity, electronic games, as well as programs
and innovations that reduce the danger of camels
on the roads and contribute to reduce traffic
accidents of children in schools and school buses.
The Center has allocated a special building to
educate girls on Omani values and humanitarian
issues in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate in
cooperation with the Ministry of Endowments
and Religious Affairs, as well as the rehabilitation
of the most prominent football talents at the
Paris Academy through the project “Sports
are Better with Ethics” in cooperation with the
Ministry of Sports Affairs.

What is the CSR approach followed
by Occidental Oman?
Occidental Oman has been operating in the Sul-
tanate of Oman for more than 30 years. As a partner

are able to strengthen relationships with communities
and create shared value for both the stakeholders and
the company.

Occidental Oman’s strategy in CSR is to support
projects that secure sustainable developments in
Oman. This leads us to support programs that foster
economic development within the framework of stra-
tegic partnerships and continuous collaboration with
key stakeholders.
In the field of CSR, we implemented numerous
projects that we strongly believe have yielded positive
impacts and strengthened our social ties with Omani
society. At Occidental Oman, we pay great attention
to the new generation; the youth in particular, because
we believe that investing on them helps us to fulfil our
strategy that aims to achieve sustainable development.
For example, we have exclusively sponsored Al Roya
Youth Awards for five consecutive years. This project
focuses on the search for the best initiatives in youth
projects and innovation. The award further aims to
motivate young people to unleash their creativity, in-
novative skills and abilities.

The Ministry of Social Development recently received
a delegation of the children of martyrs and prisoners
and their companions in “Rea’yah” Center, where the
delegation acquainted with the center and the programs

in the Sultanate, in an attempt to contribute to alleviate
the feeling of loss among the orphans and children

Al Rustaq to celebrate 57
weddings
The Wilayat of Al Rustaq recently celebrated the wedding of 57 young
people during its first mass wedding. The ceremony was held in the arena
of celebrations under the patronage of HE Abdul Moneim bin Mansour
Al Hassani, the Minister of Information. The ceremony was organized by
the Social Development Committee, represented by Al Rustaq Charity
Group and was prepared to receive more than 15,000 invited guests. The
mass wedding was an embodiment of solidarity and cooperation between
the members of society to reduce the burden and expenses on the young
people intending to marry.

for entrepreneurship
In an atmosphere full of love and brotherhood,
Al Rahma Association for Motherhood and
Childhood, in cooperation with the Omani Bahjah
Orphan Society, organized the Adventurers Camp
for entrepreneurship in Salalah. The camp was
welcomed by participants in an atmosphere of
interaction and competition. The participants’
energies have been exploited to transform them into
leadership skills in a pioneering and loving manner.

This issue comes on the occasion of
The world celebrates the World Day of Peace
on September 21 every year. In that day, global
solidarity is celebrated in order to build a world
full of peace. The things that wipe out peace are
multiple and cannot be fought by one country alone.
In 1981, UN General Assembly Resolution No.
36/67 marked the observance of the World Day of
Peace. The first day of peace was celebrated in
September 1982. In 2001, the UN General Assembly
voted unanimously to set September 21 as a day to
refrain from violence and commit to ceasefire.
That day was announced by the Secretary-
General of the United Nations at that time,
Antonio Gutierrez, to unify all governments and civil
societies in the world to work for peace through
dialogue.
The Sultanate is one of the countries that enjoy
peace. The Sultanate was ranked fifth in the World
Peace Index for 2018, which was issued by the
Institute of Economy and Peace in Australia last
June. It also ranked 73rd in the world and has been
placed on the list of countries with a high level of
peace. The Sultanate was ranked first among Arab
countries in the index of the lack of internal and
external conflict and was ranked fourth among
Arab countries in the index of security and peace in
the community.
