Greetings from Sabah, the Land Below the Wind, Malaysian Borneo.

SFWDA (Sabah Four Wheel Drive Association) is the representative association controlling and regulating off-road
events and extreme motorsports in Sabah. One of its main events is the annual International Borneo Safari Off-
road Challenge. Borneo Safari is a hard core 4X4 competitive event where participants (competitors and non-
competitors alike) will travel through 8 days of rugged terrain in one of the world’s oldest rainforest. Along the
way they will see the incredible flora and fauna of the rainforest; experience the culture and hospitality of some
of Sabah’s over 30 indigenous tribal groups. Team working between participants is also necessary to tackle and
cross the mud holes, hills and river crossings encountered in the trails of the expedition. The Borneo Safari is an
event which shows and promotes culture, adventure, and nature in Sabah. The Borneo Safari is a showcase to
promote extreme motorsports and tourism in Sabah. It is an ideal event for motor, adventure, travel, lifestyle and
outdoor journalist / writers. It is endorsed and supported by the Sabah Tourism Board (STB) and the Federal
Government of Malaysia.

The event is now in its 28th edition. The association plans to make this year’s event a major and memorable one.
This year’s event is from 28th October till 4th November 2018. The tentative route is to flag off from Kota Kinabalu.

We are looking forward for your participation as a Competitor in this year’s event and we also would like to
inform you that we are giving Free Admission Fee for all International Competitors.
