Introduction:
In our country the fish culture is increasing day by day. For these fish
culture fish food is needed because the natural food is not sufficient for
this. To mitigate the need of fish food we need artificial food for fish. For
this artificial food many fish feed industry are established in our country.
These industries produce different types of fish feed for different fish
species.Because the food habit is not same for all species of fish.

Location:
The place is 200m away from west side of university main gate.
“Nur poultry and fish feed complex” (Provimi B. V. the Nether land).

Conversation with the people:

In that industry we found the owner Mr. Nurul Islam. We also
talked with workers and some people who use this feed for their fish
culture.

Objectives:
For low cost food production
The availability of the food
For using the food in their own farm

Number of workers:
We found about 10 people were working their . among them 4 were
female 5 were male and 1 child worker.

Ingredients:
Chewa fish, sada fish (local dry fish), kakra (crab), vati (shrimp fry),
palm oil, soybean cake (khail), palish (rice bran), vutta (maze powder),
calcium.

Machineries:
Crash machine
Mixture machine
Product machine or jali machine

Preparation of feed:
At first all the materials are dried out with the open sunlight. Palish,
various types of dry fishes are broken down by crash machine. Another
type of machine is used specially for the breaking down of soybean cake.
Now the broken materials are mixed by mixture machine. Then the
mixing materials are dropped in the product machine and thin small sized
noodles like feeds are come out. At last this feeds are again dried out in
sunlight and these are packed for selling. Sometimes they use some fans
for the drying purpose.

Types of feed:
There we found two types of feed. One was straw color and
another one was black color. The black colored feed is used for cat fishes
and the straw colored feed is used for shrimp culture.

Environmental impact of fish feed industry:

In this industry there was no waste particle. So we did not found
any waste management system. But we felt a serious unpleasant odor
which may be hazardous for the worker’s of the industry in future.
During the time of breaking of soybean cake tears come out and the eyes
become red. So in the long run the eyes of the workers may be affected.
Some dust particles were floating in the air which may cause respiratory
problem.

Conclusion:
In our country there are many fish feed industry are present. But there is
no authority to control the quality of fish food. For this reason our
farmers may be affected or their production may hamper by using the low
quality of foods.
