● Sokszor egy-egy ige az utána álló elöljárószóval (ezt ilyenkor „particle”-nek nevezzük) együtt
idiomatikus értelmet nyer (azaz az ige és az elöljárószó jelentése külön-külön más, mint amit a létrejövő
szóösszetétel jelent.) Ez némely esetben hasonlít a magyar igekötők szerepéhez.

● Sok vonzatos igének tárgya van. Ez a tárgy beékelődhet az ige és a vonzat közé, vagy a vonzat
