Discuss ONE article (journal)/ research paper/ technical report or etc. on “Analysis of Environmental
Sample Using Spectroscopy Technique” which has been applied for real sample/ real waste (not
artificial waste).

 Assignment Content

 The content should include:

i. Introductory
 Background or overview of target molecule compound/ pollutant/ parameter (e.g.
heavy metal elements, functional groups, dye compounds, etc.). Select only ONE in the
environment.
 The impact of this target molecule compound/ pollutant/ parameter or etc. on the
environment.
 Approach of analytical techniques in the article (journal)/ research paper/ technical
report or etc. has been used/ chosen in the analysis of target molecule compound/
pollutant/ parameter or etc.

ii. Body
 Detail of stated operating parameter in the analysis for the target molecule compound/
pollutant/ parameter or etc. and the effect of the operating parameter to the analysis.
 Explanation on theory/working principles of sample analysis on selected spectroscopy
instrument used in the article (journal)/ research paper/ technical report or etc.
Summary of the result findings of the analysis related to the aim/objective of the
study.
 Statistical element in the analysis.
 Procedure/steps taken which had been highlighted in order to obtain the reliable or
quality data.

iii. Conclusion
 Conclusion for the approach of analytical techniques used.

iv. References
 Minimum 3 references.

 Note:
 The chosen article (journal)/ research paper/ technical report or etc. should be not
more than past 10 years
 Related pictures/ schematic diagrams/ illustration schematic or etc. should be included
as well.

 This assignment is individual assignment.
 Marks will be deducted for late submission of report after the due date.
 0 mark will be given for any form of cheating and plagiarism of report.
 Submission Date: 16th November 2018 (Friday) before 12.00 pm (the assignment need to
