BEGINNER’S STUDY KIT -2, tai English in Development Work-book 1 pagrindu sudaryta
mokomoji priemonė skirta norintiems padėti tvirtus anglų kalbos pradmenų pagrindus. Mokymo
priemonę sudaro įvadas ir penkios pamokos. Įvadas yra skirtas taisyklingos anglų kalbos tarties
formavimui.
INTRODUCTION

Pavyzdžiui, palyginkite: sheep [ʃi:p] avis, ship [ʃɪp] laivas; heat [hi:t] karštis, hit [hɪt] trenkti,

THE READING OF TWO SYLLABLE WORDS
net visai praleidžiami: sister ['sɪstә], a'side [ә'saɪd], absent ['æbsnt].
Perskaitykite šiuos žodžius: my, yet, sky, yard, fly, lynx, yellow, oyster, by, Sydney, nylon,

THE READING OF SENTENCES
Sakinių skaitymas
Anglų kalboje sakinyje paprastai kirčiuojami reikšminiai, arba savarankiški žodžiai, t.y.
daiktavardžiai, būdvardžiai, skaitvardžiai, veiksmažodžiai, prieveiksmini, jaustukai. Sakinyje
paprastai nekirčiuojami: artikeliai, dalelytės to, there, kai kurie įvardžiai, pagalbiniai ir modaliniai
Ilgesnis sakinys paprastai dalijamas į prasmines grupes, t.y. žodžio arba žodžių junginius,
sudarančius prasminius vienetus (sintagmas), kurie atskiriami vieni nuo kitų tono pakitimu.

He likes her. She likes him.
64
THE WORDS MUCH AND MANY, A LITTLE AND A FEW, A LOT AND LOTS OF.
+ ? -
Plural countables a lot of/lots of many many
They know a lot of Do they know many They don’t know many
interesting people. interesting people? interesting people.
65
THE PRONOUNS SOME, ANY AND NO (NOT ANY)
Nežymimieji įvardžiai some, any ir no (not any)
Neiginys no vadinamas pilnu neiginiu, o neiginys not daliniu. Not neigia duotą daiktų skaičių, bet
neneigia šių daiktų buvimo apskritai.
Įvardžiai some (kažkoks, tam tikras, truputis, keletas),any (kas nors, kiek nors, koks nors, bet koks)
skirtingai.
+ ? -
Singular a/an a/an a/an
countables There’s a book on the Is there a book on the There isn’t a book on the
table. table? table.
Uncountables There’s some wine in Is there any wine in There isn’t any wine in the
the bottle. the bottle? bottle. There is no wine in
the bottle.
66
kai jie prasideda žodžiais ‘Would…?’ (reikšti pasiūlymui) ir ‘Could…?’
Todėl some dažnai
You can take any bus. Galima važiuoti bet kuriuo autobusu.
You can come any time. Gali ateiti bet kada.
You can choose any seat.

e.g. Tom‘s cat (Tomo katė); men‘s job (vyrų darbas); students‘ room (studentų
kambarys).
e.g. Pete‘s [pɪ:ts] dog; children‘s [tʃɪldrәnz] toys; George‘s [dʒɔ:dʒɪz] laptop; girls‘
[gә:lz] books.
Priklausymas (nuosavybės prasme) gali būti reiškiamas ir su prielinksniu of. Ši forma
vartojama dažnai, nes reiškia priklausymą ir asmeniui, ir daiktui bei reiškiniui: e.g. the capital of
Lithuania (Lietuvos sostinė), a picture of dad ( tėčio nuotrauka), the color of the tulips (tulpių
spalva),etc.

heavy → heav + i + er → the heav + i +est
near (artimas) → nearer → the nearest (nusakant atstumą); next(apie laiką, eiliškumą)
THE TIME
Apie laiką
This is a clock. There are two hands on the face of the clock. One hand is long and the other hand
is short. The long hand is the minute hand. The short hand is the hour hand. What time is it?
Prielinksnis in reiškia platesnį laiko diapozoną, kuris siaurėja per prielinksnį on iki
prielinksnio at.

Bring back, bring back, bring back my Bonnie to me, to me;

The geese are getting fat,
Please put a penny
In the old man‘s hat.
If you haven‘t got a penny,
A ha‘penny [heɪpnɪ] will do;
If you haven‘t got a ha‘penny,
God bless you.
