The health and nutrition of our students is a crucial factor affecting their academic performance. By way
of producing food more accessible to a larger number of families, we can better ensure the success of our students
towards their academic performance. Gulayan Sa Paaralan is one of the best way on how we can improve learning
especially in our school. Utilizing school gardening for supplementary feeding program can be a tool in aiding the
major reasons why a particular students drop out of school because of poverty, hunger, malnutrition.
Aside from implementing school gardening for the purpose of feeding programs it is inculcating among our
students the values of good health and nutrition, industry love of labor and caring for others. Furthermore this will
teach them how to improve their nutritional status. It also serves as a good simulating activity in which they will
learn leadership and rendering good service. As a matter of fact, planting as one of the livelihood skills that
learners will acquire in school can be applied and replicated in their respected households.
This project shall be implemented in every school regardless of ample or limited area. Let us be work to
improve and increase vegetable production in school by teaching the learners the methods of sustainable
production of food which are applicable to their homes and important in honing their skills in agriculture. Let us
utilize school gardening in improving the education of the young ones through supplementary feeding programs
and garden sale to fund necessary activities. Let our school be the model of cleanliness and greenness in our
community through the support of the Department of Agriculture Province of Bukidnon.
