NARRATIVE REPORT on Virtual Orientation Among Parents,

Barangay Officials and Teachers in Relation to the Implementation
of SBFP for SY 2021-2022
(October 25, 2021)

The Department of Education (DepEd), through the Bureau of

Learners Support Services-School Health Division (BLSS-SHD), shall implement the
School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) for School Years (SY) 2017-2022 to
address malnutrition among public school children. The SBFP covers all Severely
Wasted (SW) and Wasted (W) Kindergarten to Grade 6 pupils for SY 2017-2018.
The program primarily aims to improve the nutritional status of the beneficiaries by at
least 70% at the end of 120 feeding days. Secondarily, it aims to increase classroom
attendance by 85% to 100% and improve the children’s health and nutrition values
and behavior.

In line with this, Paaralang Elementarya ng Muzon teaching force

headed by Ma’am Annabelle A. Comia, school head, and SBFP Coordinator, Ma’am
Cornelia B. Pitos, conducted a Virtual Meeting with the stakeholders, barangay
officials, parents and teachers regarding the SBFP Implementation. The meeting
was held on October 25, 2021 and started at exactly 1:00 pm.

Ma’am Annabelle Comia started the meeting by greeting all

participants including the barangay officials. She mentioned that there will be a new
Cycle Menu for this year. There will be 7 day-feeding cycle unlike last year that had
only 5 day. These includes Nutripacks, local fruits, root crops, e-nutribun,
vegetables, poultry products, and fortified and enriched bread. Councilor Rolly
Panganiban suggested that parents should have a schedule to help the teachers in
preparing the foods to be distributed. It was seconded by Councilor Efren Ilao and
the rest of the officials.

After further discussion and exchanges of ideas, Ma’am Annabelle

Comia ended the meeting by thanking everyone who participated and gave ideas.

The meeting became successful through the help and participation

of community stakeholders and school personnel.
