At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:

Daily Routine
Everybody will stand and will pray.
Before taking their seats, students will arrange their chairs properly and the teacher
will check the attendance.

The teacher will ask volunteers to fill up the concept map.

B. ANALYSIS
CONNECTION OF THE ACTIVITY
The teacher will ask a question which will lead to the short story that depicts one
of the Filipino traditions titled “The Wedding Dance” by Amador Daguio.
What if one of what you’ve written is missing, will the word “family” still stand?
Or will it collapse?
VOCABULARY DEVELOPMENT
1. Before the story is introduced to the students, the teacher will present unfamiliar
words found in the story.
2. The students determine the meaning of the words with the use of sentences.
Words:
1. Threshold – (noun) The sill of a door
Sentence: Awiyao reached the head-high threshold of their house.
C. ABSTRACTION
1. The students will read the story.
2. After they read the text, the students are asked with the following guide
questions:

1. The teacher will divide the class into groups, the number of groups depend on
how many groups the teacher wants. ^__^
The students will create a comic strip showing another possible ending of the
story.
IV. Evaluation:
______1. The story says aloud that a man who loves unconditionally should give
up his or her happiness for the beloved.
______2. The title speaks of the dance that happened in the wedding of Awiyao
and Madulimay.
______3. Awiyao and Lumnay still confessed their love for each other in the midst
of their separation.
______4.The presence of darkness in the story symbolizes the sadness in their
hearts in contrast to the ember in the fire logs that represents their strong and deep
love for each other.
______5. The beads given to Lumnay by Awiyao will be given to Madulimay in
the wedding.
______6. Awiyao is more courageous than Lumnay to surrender his love and take
all the hurt that goes with it.
______7. The tribe’s convention and practice on raising a family bore much burden
to Awiyao and Lumnay.
______8. The gangsas represent the tribe’s rule and power.
______9. Lumnay is triumphant in the end of the story.
______10. The story speaks of sacrifice and love.
