1st Grade Families

Hello my name is Tess Mellor. I am currently enrolled at
University of San Francisco School of Education working
towards my SB242 Multiple Subject Teaching Preliminary
Credential with EL Authorization and a Masters of Arts in
Teaching pending 2020.

As a teacher my main goal is to create a

welcoming environment that all children can
learn in.

Curriculum
 A Day in the Life of a 1 st Grader
•  8:00-8:30 Morning Check-In
•  8:30-9:00 Student choice
•  9:00-10:00 Math
•  10:00-10:30 Recess
•  10:30-11:30 Language Arts
•  11:30-12:00 Library
•  12:00-12:45 Lunch
•  12:45-1:15 Catch up/ Student pick
•  1:15-2:00 Science/Social Studies
•  2:00-3:00 Student Pick
Books will be available to the children at all
times. I love to encourage all of my students to
enjoy reading. Reading homework will be
assessed in the time the student spent reading
rather then the amount read.
 Family Involvement
Our school’s mission is to involve families in
their child’s learning as much as possible,
this includes;
