We analyse development options to
identify the most effective solution to
optimise CAPEX, OPEX and maximise
remaining production of offshore fields.
This is achieved through our in-house field
development, front end engineering design
(FEED), pre-FEED, detailed design, subsea
and well engineering capability. We have
conducted more than 700 high quality,
scalable and cost-effective engineering
studies and have a global engineering pool
comprising thousands of engineers.
Through our in-depth knowledge of
FPSO fleets, contractors, available units
and asset conditions we can also source
the optimum floating assets for use in
your field, and can take on field operations
as required.

ASSET SUPPORT
SERVICES
There are a number of ways we can support
marine assets post start-up. Our pre-operations
and operations and maintenance (O&M)
services ensure assets are ready for operations,
reach their potential and operate successfully.
Through a number of operating models we have
successfully operated and managed a number
of fixed and floating offshore assets, taking full
responsibility for all production operations on a
day-to-day basis including responsibility for the
Case for Safety. This includes contracted and
non-contracted FPSOs, MOPUs and floating
storage and offloading (FSO) vessels, where
we have increased production and taken on
operational responsibility. For assets not currently
in active service, we can assist owners to find
deployment opportunities anywhere in the world.
Through our brownfield studies and
upgrades, we can deliver innovative solutions
to help extend the life of assets, wells and
reservoirs. These studies are generated using
our in-house teams with significant project
insights, and an innovative approach to
devising cost-effective, workable plans.

ASSET INVESTMENT
Client: PetroFirst
Scope: Investment
Location: Global
In 2014 Petrofac and First Reserve
(owned by BlackRock) created PetroFirst
Infrastructure Partners to purchase
investments in energy infrastructure projects.
80% of Petrofac’s deployed and
contracted floating production facilities
were purchased through PetroFirst for a
total initial consideration of approximately
US$450 million.
ASSET DEVELOPMENT
Client: Petronas
Scope: EPCIC
Location: Malaysia
We undertook the lump-sum offshore
engineering, procurement, construction,
installation and commissioning (EPCIC)
contracts for the full scope of the SEPAT
early production system. This comprised
of the Cendor and West Desaru mobile
offshore production units (MOPU) and the
Berantai floating production storage and
offloading (FPSO) vessel. Our work included
the management of multiple subcontractors
and hands on EPCIC. Through a five-year
design and engineering services contract
we have continued to support these assets.

FIELD DEVELOPMENT
AND OPERATIONS
Client: Petronas
Scope: Field development
Location: Malaysia
As the Operator of Block PM304 we were
able to bring the Cendor field on stream
in record time and below budget. From a
standing start Petrofac submitted the field
development plan (FDP) in five months, a
record for Malaysia.
By aligning with our clients through
investment, Petrofac has committed
our full range of capabilities, including
engineering and construction, and
operations management, to devise a safe,
optimal solution to a challenging field. Our
field development and operations activities
specifically included concept derivation and
selection, subsurface engineering, facilities
engineering, drilling, project execution and
operations management.
First oil was achieved just 16 months from
sanction. Since then, the Cendor field has
produced in excess of 27 million barrels of
premium crude.
ASSET SUPPORT SERVICES
Client: Anasuria Operating Company
Scope: Installation and Pipeline Operator
Location: UKCS
Through a world leading Installation
and Pipeline Operator contract we have
full responsibility on behalf of Anasuria
Operating Company (AOC) for their FPSO
operations, as well as for monitoring and
managing the pipelines. This has included
the safe transition of personnel and
systems with minimal impact to operations.
Within the first six months of operations
production from the Cook well had
increased by 50% and gas export had
increased by 50%. In 2016 this resulted
in the highest oil export since 2010. We
are working hard with AOC to continue to
extend the life of this asset for the long term.
