Learning priority: Develop sense of belonging and confidence.

Tala, it’s wonderful to see you are feeling comfortable and secure with An-Nur community and
started to explore. You are settling so well mashaAllah. The other day as I was observing you,
was pleased to see you were engaged on many activities. You like varieties of activities indoor
and outdoor. I have noticed that you enjoy activities with your peers as I found you sitting in the
sandpit surrounded with your peers, relaxed and happily playing chatting. I could see you enjoy
their company. I have also noticed that you like art and craft, Montessori activities, colouring,
dress up and playing in the family corner and in the sand pit . You stared to develop good
relationships with your peers and with all the teachers. Also started to understand the routines
and how things work at An Nur. You feel more comfortable as you have many friends who
speaks same language as you and the Arabic teacher and all other Kaiako supports your culture
and language and values.

What’s next?
InshaAllah we will continue to provide learning
environment for you where you will feel sense of
belonging and confident to learn alongside with
other children. We will make sure to slowly
introduce you with English language so that you
can develop oral language and feel comfortable to
speak in Arabic as well as in English.
“Children will experience an environment where
they develop verbal communication skills for a
range of purposes,” (Te Whariki, communication).
