Abstract
Background
Teenage pregnancy is an important matter in both developed and developing country. In
Indonesia, the rate of teenage pregnancy is increasing, it is 9% intotal number of
pregnancies in Indonesia by the year 2010. Teenage pregnancy is categorized as a high risk
pregnancy that could increase the mortality and morbidity rates of mothers and babies.
Unwanted pregnancies is still a problem in Indonesia could cause the act of abortion.
Aim
This research’s aim is to know the factors relating to the antenatal care visits in teenage
pregnancy and factors contributing to the act of abortion in teenager in Makassar on the
leriod of January 2015 to December 2015.
Methods
The method used in this research is observatuonal, with cross-sectional study. The
population of this research is 4.438 married pregnant women, with total samples amount
354 respondents.
Result
The result shows as The results showed that there is a relationship between the level of
education, maternal age, gestational age, parity, and the level of risk of pregnancy on ANC
in RSKDIA Fatimah, Siti Khadijah RSIA 1 and RSKDIA Pertiwi in Makassar with p = 0.00
(<0, 05). and there is also a relationship between education level, maternal age, gestational
age, and the level of risk of pregnancy on abortion attitudes in RSKDIA Fatimah, Siti
Khadijah RSIA 1 and RSKDIA Pertiwi in Makassar with p = 0.00 (<0.05). But parity is not
related to abortion attitude with P = 0.079 (> 0.05)
Conclusion
This research’s there’s no relation between the parity and the act towards abortion. Some
research has shown that the amount of parity shows relationship between teenage
pregnancies and the negative effect it has to the socio-economy situation of the mothers and
the children. Education of antenatal visits in teenage pregnancies continuously like the
program of reproduction health care. This is meant to reduce the high risk in teenage
pregnancies. The prevention of the high risk in teenage pregnancies is done to stabilize the
care and education of the reproductive system to give more knowledge about the
complications of teenage pregnancies.
