BACKGROUNDS

It worked! We're critical now

Directive no. 1999/31/EG by the EU that Bandung greater area produce
forbid any organic waste and other 2000 tons of garbage daily that
hazardous waste to the landfill before consists of 60%-70% organic
being treated either mechanically, materials
biologically, or thermally.

We're running out of We have a goal!

time & land RPJPD Bandung aim to
Sarimukti landfill will be closed in manage 90% of the waste by
2020 2025.
BANDUNG'S
GARBAGE POWER
GENERATOR
The Plant's Plan
• Located in Legok Nangka in 74.6 Ha area
• Consists of waste incinerator and bio-digester
technology
• The technology has been used for 20 years around
the world with zero accident
• Generate 18 MWh from 1800 tons of garbage
• Equipped with processing facility of toxic gas such as
Dioxins
• Most of the chlorine-containing products such as
paper, PVC, electronic devices have been sorted out
LEGAL PROTECTION
• Perpres no. 18 tahun 2016 tentang “Acceleration for
The Construction of Waste-based Power Plants in DKI
Jakarta, Bandung, Tangerang, Semarang, Surakarta,
Surabaya, and Makassar”
• Environmental permit No 667/001/BPMP, 2013 related
to the TPPAS development in Legok Nangka
• UU no. 18 tahun 2008 about “Waste Management”
WE NEED REVOLUTION
NOT EVOLUTION!
The method is relatively faster compared to
sanitary landfill and open dumping
IT'S THE FRIENDLIEST ALTERNATIVE!
Compared to open dumping, incinerator is way cleaner!
The green house gas emission for landfill gas = 197.005 tons
The green house gas emission for PLTSa = 201.263 tons
reason #3 more added value to the garbage
If we depend on open dumping, the composted
waste will only be valuable for farmers

But with incinerator, the garbage will produce

electricity which is now a primary need for all kind
of people!
reason #4
saving land

If we open-dump the trash, the land needed is way

bigger than only dumping the ash from the PLTSa
reason #5

If we stay like this, by the year of

2025
Bandung will suffer from
GARBAGE EMERGENCY
situation!
reason #6

And within

2060
Bandung will fully be covered by
