INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the world of entrepreneurship and small business.At one time or another, I believe
many people reflect on the possibility of some day operating their own business. This because of
entrepreneurship and small business is growing faster in recent year. Over the past few years, the
number of individuals and also students who have chosen to be entrepreneurs increased
substantially.

A lot of economist agreed that small business has historically been the backbone of the
economics success all around the world. Small business today continues to play a dominant role
in the ability of the nation to quickly adapt and to make economic progress. The development of
small business also helps drive the economic success of communities, regions, and entire states.
As a result, civic leaders, increasingly look to small business as a means to promote economic
strength.

When small business exist at one area or location, this able generating new employment,
providing a growing tax for the country and at last in also give the contribution to the
country.The success of this area will also encourage other areas to promote entrepreneurship and
small business to a much greater degree.

History of Ramly Food Processing Sdn Bhd.

He started as a small business in his house when was 17. He faced with a lot of difficulties and
challenges but never gave up. Where he now is what he has put in his effort in the last 20 years.
He is today the market leader in Malaysian industry.

The Ramly Burger, also known as the Burger Ramly, is a Malaysian burger created by Ramly
Mokni popular in Malaysia and Singapore. Though the term "Ramly Burger" may refer to any of
the hamburgers sold in a Ramly Burger stall, it most commonly refers to the Ramly Burger
Special. While the amount and type of ingredients vary greatly depending on location, a typical
Ramly Burger consists of a beef or chicken patty, margarine, onions, an egg, cabbage,
mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce and Maggi Seasoning. This list is subjective, however, as
Ramly Burgers are famous for being highly customize.

Burger Ramly started out in 1979 as a small family business operated from a mobile kiosk on
Lorong Haji Hussin in Kuala Lumpur. The family recipe soon became a hit among Malaysians.

An original Beef Ramly Burger Special.The Ramly Burger is distinctive from most other
hamburgers due to the unique way in which the ingredients are served. Rather than the usual
method of stacking the ingredients within the bun, the patty in the Ramly Burger is first covered
with the desired condiments, then wrapped in a thin layer of egg. The end result is packet like an
enhances the texture of the burger while simultaneously reducing mess from the condiments. The
Ramly Burger served in this way is known as Ramly Burger Special.

Besides the Burger Special, Ramly Burgers can also be served in conventional way, with the
patty being cooked together with ingredients like Worcestershire sauce, curry powder or some
pepper as flavorings.

Despite its popularity among Singaporeans, the import of Ramly Burger into Singapore is
prohibited along with all other Malaysian beef products. However, several stalls have smuggled

the burger, illegally, into the country. In particular, Ramly Burger stalls are rampant in pasar
malams, which are harder to track due to their itinerant nature.

Ramly is the guy who has almost single handly changed the way how burgers are
commercialised by the stall concept.

In 1979 , imported meat became very popular in Malaysia and Ramly saw the opportunity to
have burger meat locally produced at high volume which could match the standard of the
imported meat while maintaining its halal standard. So, he opened up a burger processing stalls
which later became hot in the town. He named the product after his very own name, Ramly
Burger.

Ramly quickly moved to expand the business further by incorporating a company as well as
using machines to speed up processing and increase daily productions.

Today, Ramly Burger Processing continues to produce millions of burgers with its revenue
raking up year after year. The company's annual revenue is now exceeding RM100 millions per
year.

The brand has also stamped its reputation due to its commitment and non compromising integrity
on their halal status. In 2005, In the wake of public outcry on some of the brands which halal
status recognition were highly questionable, Ramly Burger, together with few local food
producers like Ayamas, stood out from the crowd as those who comply to the highest standard
by JAKIM.

This entrepreneur was recently awarded as one of the recipients of 'Anugerah Melayu
Cemerlang' on May 2006. He has proved that one can succeed without degree, diploma or other
higher qualifications. To him, passion and deep interest will carry on until reach the goal.

Company Profile

RAMLY Food Processing Sdn Bhd is a well known Bumiputra owned food based manufacturer
dealing in meat based products such as beef, chicken and seafood.

The company was founded in 1984 from a pure desire by owners, Dato' Haji Ramly Bin Mokni
and Datin Hajjah Shala Siah Binti Abdul Manap to produce halal, clean and quality products.

The company owns a processing plant located in SME Industrial Park, Mukim Batu, Kuala
Lumpur offering job opportunies in management, production to product marketing and
distribution. RAMLY is now a household name in Malaysia and international markets.

to help them achieve success in the future.
