11. Prove that Dx cothx = -csch2x

Solution:

25. Prove that ∫ 𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒉|𝒖| 𝒅𝒖 = 𝒍𝒏𝒄𝒐𝒔𝒉|𝒖| + 𝒄

Solution:
𝑠𝑖𝑛ℎ𝑥
Recall: tanhu = 𝑐𝑜𝑠ℎ𝑥
𝑠𝑖𝑛ℎ𝑢

Let: t = coshu
𝑑𝑡
=∫ 𝑡 dt = sinhu du

43. f(x) = cosh-1(tanx) , find the derivative of the function

Solution:
1
Recall that Dx(cosh-1u) = √𝑢2 Dx(u) : given also that u = tanx, then:
−1
1
= Dx(tanx) Recall: Dx(tanx) = sec2x
√[(tanx)2 −1

Therefore, the derivative of the function cosh-1(tanx) is
√(tanx)2 −1
