Activity The students will be using Educreations to draw a
flower and label the four main structures of a plant:
roots, stem, leaves, and flower. Prior to class, the
teacher will create a class within Educreations and add
each student so they can easily access every student’s
work. In class, the teacher will describe each part of the
plant and what it does by using a presentation on the
projector that includes pictures. Then the students will
use the pen tool on the app to draw the plant whatever
color they would like, using a different color for each
part. Then they must use the text box feature to label
each. For homework, the students must use the app to
record their voice and explain each part of the flower.
Once finished, the students are required to email their
project to their teacher before next class.

The students will be making a concept map to show each
stage of the plant life cycle. The teacher will put the class into
groups and select a leader for each group. Each student will
download the app on their device. Students must have a
google or Microsoft account to use app. Once students are
logged in with their accounts, the group leader will invite all
group members by selecting the settings gear button in the
top right corner and entering each student’s email. The
students will then work through each stage by adding a title,
description, and image of the plant during the stage of
development. The students should explain what happens to
the plant in each stage and how one stage leads to the next.
The students can work on their own devices while
collaborating by all researching, organizing the map, and
picking a picture they can all identify. When done, the leader
will invite the teacher to the group to see and grade their
concept map.
