Learning Objective
9.1 -The student will apply health knowledge and skills
to achieve and maintain long-term health and
wellness.
Pedagogy Activity In this activity students will use renderforest to create a
animated 3D slideshow to depict certain health topics
covered in this SOL. The students will create a video that
will last between a minute to two minutes and will focus
heavily on situations that young teenagers will face. This
activity will help gauge the students understanding of
different lifestyle factors that affect their personal health and
mental well being. Students will be able to create many
different styles of videos that allow for uniqueness and better
understanding of the health concepts that are being taught in
the classroom. For example students can choose to create a
short video on depression, showing certain traits and
characteristics of this mental health disease. Then once they
show characteristics of depression they will show different
ways that people can fight depression.

This example shows how the students will take personal
health concerns like depression, anxiety, and weight gain to
turn into an animation slideshow. This example matches up
with the SOL and the activity that the students would be
creating in class.
