This document describes several measuring devices used in mathematics:
1. A weighing scale measures weight or mass.
2. A protractor measures angles, typically in the form of a flat semicircle marked with degrees.
3. A ruler is a straight strip marked with intervals used to measure distances and draw straight lines.

Protractor An instrument for measuring angles, typically in the form of a flat semicircle marked with degrees along the curved edge. Ruler A straight strip or cylinder of plastic, wood, metal, or other rigid material, typically marked at regular intervals, to draw straight lines or measure distances. Steel Tape A metal tape measure. A tape measure or measuring tape is a flexible ruler and used to measure distance. It consists of a ribbon of cloth, plastic, fibre glass, or metal strip with linear-measurement markings. It is a common measuring tool. Surveyors use tape measures in lengths of over 100 m. Compass (drawing tool)
A pair of compasses, also known as a compass, is a
technical drawing instrument that can be used for inscribing circles or arcs. As dividers, they can also be used as tools to measure distances, in particular on maps. Compasses can be used for mathematics, drafting, navigation and other purposes. Measuring cup A measuring cup or measuring jug is a kitchen utensil used primarily to measure the volume of liquid or bulk solid cooking ingredients such as flour and sugar, especially for volumes from about 50 mL (2 fl oz) upwards. Measuring cups are also used to measure washing powder, liquid detergents and bleach for clothes washing. The cup will usually have a scale marked in cups and fractions of a cup, and often with fluid measure and weight of a selection of dry foodstuffs. Measuring cups may be made of plastic, glass, or metal. Transparent (or translucent) cups can be read from an external scale; metal ones only from a dipstick or scale marked on the inside.
