DATA VISUALISATION TO PERSUADE SOCIETY

Goals of the Project:


1.Students demonstrate their abilities in organising and analysing data for better decision.
2.Students experience the use of local open data and be able to promote the information.
3.Students exhibit creative solution based on analysed data.
4.Students acquire skills in working with others.

Teams: You are working in your regular team. It is up to the members of the team to make
sure everyone contributes equally. Plan your schedules so that you will have time to work
together on the project outside of class and participate in class discussion.

Theme: No theme

We don’t focus to any specific theme so you are absolutelt free to explore the diverse areas to
allow an enormous opportunity to find your own angle on your selected topic. If you are not
sure where to start, we gathered ideas of data sources to immerse you in the task If you are
interested in the pattern of local news, demographic information from local population
database or alarming issues of security and safety.

Uncover your stories in visualization and present them in a short - maximum 3 minutes video
(vitot). Build a viz in Tableau that somehow touches on the story. Upload it to your Tableau
Public profile. Submit the link to the viz together with video in week 14, before 2nd June
2019.

All the submitted vizzes and videos will be evaluated based on three criteria: Analysis,
Proposed Solution, Storytelling and Design. Ensure that you have three components in your
video: background, analysis and proposed solution. Include references in your work.

Week 14:
Submit completed project (vizz and video)
Share your vizz in Tableu Public and provide the link
Upload you video online and provide the link
Provide short report on team member contribution and project recommendation
