Business Plan

A. As investors, we’ve reached our potential in creating a business suitable for the public’s
enjoyment. Our company, The Burger Box, is a convenient food truck located in Atlanta for all to
love! Our food truck includes sweet and savory dishes. The Burger Box was intended to attract
business in a new and convenient way. Serving Burgers, appetizers, sides, wings, drinks, and
dessert, we have created a new inexpensive way for people to enjoy food at its finest!

a. A group of peers and I decided to come up with a way to speak to the public without actually 
speaking. In conclusion we came up with food, a food on wheels. In this food truck in 
incorporates the savory and sweet. Which in fact compliments each other. It will feel as if the 
flavors are dancing on your tongue. 
b. Short term- build a fan base. Long Term- keep it up and running and expand to bordering states. 
c. Our best homemade emulsion was our whipped cream frosting that we made for our cupcakes

a. Appetizers will be $1.99 each. Small fries will be $.99. Medium fries will be sold for $1.29 and
large will be sold for $1.59. Other sides will be sold for $2. Burgers will each be $4.99. WIngs
will be sold in different counts; 6 count for $2.50, 8 count for $4, and 12 count for $5. Drinks will
all be sold for $.99. Cake pops and ice cream will be $1 each. Cupcakes will be sold for $2.
b. We will make money by catering different events and holiday celebrations throughout the year.
c. Our products are very popular in the Atlanta area, considering that majority of the population are
Black, White and Hispanic. Popular american foods, with a side of spanish appetizers will suit the
wants of the public area. We provide services for party’s, including events and holiday
celebrations. Special catering is providing for small and/or large celebrations, this includes
several employees helping to dish out packages of food for the party.

a. Customers will learn about our food truck through our instagram account @_burgerbox.
b. To encourage referrals we will have all of our contact information placed on the side of our truck
near the window to order food. We will also have a Yelp account set up so people can leave
reviews.
c. Our specials will be mostly on holiday’s and on birthdays. Customers can show it is their
birthday and receive our special birthday cake ice cream. On big holidays all food is 25% off.
d. Our major competitors will be any other food trucks in the area of Atlanta, GA.
e. We will park in downtown Atlanta during the lunch flow when everyone who is working will be
looking for a place to grab lunch and we will be open until 6pm and we will open at 11am.
f. We will be different from our competitors because we will offer good deals on food that everyone
can afford.

5. ​Food Science technique(s)


a. Temporary Emulsion- When you agitate 2 ingredients but they don't stay combined forever in fact
most separate under an hour but it can be emulsified again. Our example of a temporary emulsion
is whipped cream frosting and our hollandaise sauce for our burgers. Our technique for the
whipped cream frosting and the hollandaise sauce we used a whisk.
A1. Permanent Emulsion- When 2 ingredients are mixed together but they remain unified for an extended
period of time. Our example of a permanent emulsion is our ranch dip.For our technique we used a food
processor.

a. According to the city of Atlanta, there are several government assigned walk zone areas for food
trucks. In the “central avenue, four metered parking spaces (two Food Trucks) on the west side of
Central Avenue between Trinity Avenue and Mitchell Street. Mitchell Street Six metered parking
spaces (three Food Trucks) on the south side of Mitchell Street between Central Avenue and
Washington Street. Six metered parking spaces (three Food Trucks) on the north side of Mitchell
Street between Central Avenue and Washington Street. Four metered parking spaces (two Food
Trucks) on the south side of Mitchell Street between Pryor Street and Central Avenue. On Martin
Luther King Jr Drive, four metered parking spaces (two Food Trucks) on the south side of Martin
Luther King Jr Drive between Washington Street and Central Avenue. On Pryor Street, six
metered parking spaces (three Food Trucks) on the west side of Pryor Street between Martin
Luther King Jr Drive and Mitchell Street. Food Trucks utilizing these spaces shall be subject to
the posted rush hour parking restrictions. Four metered parking spaces (two Food Trucks) on the
east side of Pryor Street between Mitchell Street and Trinity Avenue. On Trinity Street, two
metered parking spaces (one Food Truck) on the north side of Trinity Street between Central
Avenue and Washington Street. Any Food Truck utilizing this space shall be subject to the posted
rush hour parking restrictions.”
b. Cash and cards will be accepted. A minimum of $20 will be accepted on a customer’s credit card.
c. We will be located all around Atlanta and we will park in downtown Atlanta. We will park near
Georgia State University Monday - Friday. Saturday and Sunday we will be located in Midtown.
d. At night we will park the truck at our place and we will rotate who drives it home every few
nights.

a. We know our food truck will be successful because we are not selling our foods at expensive
prices that only few people will be able to afford. We will also be opened everyday of the week at
accessible hours.
b. Our strengths would be prioritizing and good work ethic. We are all team workers and enjoy
working together on a daily basis. Our only weakness would be procrastinating on paying our
utility bills and buying new products.
Demographics
a. Our Burger Box will be operating in Atlanta, Georgia.
b. Yumbii, Mix’ D Up Burgers, and Tex's Tacos are a few popular food trucks in Atlanta,
Georgia.

Ii. “Trucks permits must be visible at all times. If operating multiple sites, the vendor is
responsible for providing visual proof of permit in all vending locations.
Iii. No vending is allowed within 15 feet of a fire hydrant. No vending is allowed within
600 feet of the closet property line of any public or private elementary, middle or high
school. No vending location is allowed within 200 feet of a brick and mortar business
selling the same or similar product. Food trucks may only be open to and may only serve
customers from the side of the truck facing the sidewalk. Food trucks are prohibited from
operating with their trucks open to the roadway. Food trucks may only vend from
metered parking spots available to the general public, with up to two spots allocated per
truck. Duration limits are waived; however, trucks must pay the meters for the duration of
the stop. Food trucks may operate from no more than one third of the metered parking
spaces on each street on a block.”
