EXPERIMENT NO.

01

AIM: To implement a simple NMOS Common Source amplifier circuit in LT Spice and
analyse V-I characteristics.

SOFTWARE USED: LT Spice

THEORY: In general, MOSFET exhibits three operating regions:

Cut-off region- It is that region where no current flows into the MOSFET as it is OFF. In this
region, MOSFET acts as a switch.

Linear/ Triode region- It is the region where Id increases with an increase in the value of Vds.
MOSFET can act as an amplifier in this region.

Saturation region- In this region, MOSFET have their Id constant in spite of increasing Vds
and occurs when Vds exceeds the pinch-off value i.e. Vp. Here MOSFET acts like a closed
switch with saturated value of Id.

EXPERIMENT NO. 5

AIM: To implement CMOS differential amplifier in LT Spice and analyse its AC and DC
characteristics.

SOFTWARE USED: LT Spice

THEORY: The Differential amplifier is one of the versatile circuits that can accept two input
signals and amplify the difference between two input signals. It consists of NMOS and PMOS
device where n-channel is used to form differential pair and p-channel is used as current mirror
load.

The amplifier that amplifies the difference between two voltages is called Differential
amplifier. It is used to provide high voltage gain and high common mode rejection ratio. It has
very low input bias current, very low offset voltage and very high input impedance. If two
inputs are equal then it gives an output voltage of approximately zero. If they are not equal, it
gives high output voltage.
