THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

In today’s modern times, computer technology has become a vital part of our life.

It helps us to have an easier life. In this competing world, the students should have to

learn a lot when it comes to education. Everything cannot be taught by a teacher or in

school. To face big challenges in life, students take up extra learning which can be done

through computers. These computers can be used for their personal or recreational

activities like listening to music, watching movies or videos, chatting, browsing, playing

games and etc. We can express our feelings through it.

Computer has other issues, too, with pornography and games just a click of a

button away. Addiction to these corruptions would directly affect their education.

According to Alan France, writing in Understanding youth in late modernity, (McGraw-

Hill international, 2007), “Across new media, we can see a range of fears and anxieties:

fears over sexual exploitation – especially over the young gaining access to

pornography.

Computers have passed a long history of development transforming from scientific

projects, a hallmark of academic research themselves to working tools and now the

main instruments of understanding and cognizing the surrounding world. The computer

technology has a deep impact on education. Computer education forms a part of the

school and college curricula, as it important for every individual today, to have a basic

knowledge of computers.
Scope and Delimitation

This study was how to determine how it would affect their study habits and

involvement to computer game addiction. It examined the relationship between their

expressed attitudes and perceived skill and the investigation of the addictive potential of

gaming as well as the relationship between excessive gaming and aggressive attitudes

and behavior.

Assumptions

We are living in the age of computers technology. In the recent decade, these

machines became a very popular and an important part of the human’s life; as a result,

today we are surrounded by computers everywhere. We have computers at homes,

educational institutions, offices, hospitals, banks, supermarkets and so on. However, we

cannot deny this fact that computers are given great importance in the education sector

and students are the key part of it.
