theoretical knowledge acquired all through my academic career.
The project report is hand is an outcome of the blessing and contributions of many. I
express my sincere gratitude to the respected faculty members.
It is all because the blessing of my parents and well wishes that I have been going
ahead in my life and I take this opportunity to convey my deep sense of gratitude
and respect to them.
I am highly thankful to the respondents who spared their precious time to fill the
questionnaire adequately and extended the right amount of information and to those
who have directly or indirectly helped me for completing this report.
I am happy to placeon record my thanks to all the faculty members of my institution for
timely help during this study. At last i would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the
Head of the Department of Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Department,

ABSTRACT
This project also deals with the construction, description and also its
working principle laced with adequate circuit diagrams (top view and
front view). This project, in short is aimed at the protection and
security of intricate circuits using LM317 circuits.

INTRODUCTION
Calculations:
V0= 0 to 30 V
I0 = 1.0 A
Iadj = 100µA max
If we use R1=240 ohm, then for V0
of 1.2 volt, the value of R2 from
equation
V0=1.25(1+R2/R1)+(Iadj)(R2)
1.2=1.25(1+R2/240)+(10-4)R2
R2=2.02 KΩ
If V0=30V
30=1.25(1+R2/240)+(10-4)R2
R2 =5.4 KΩ
LM317 protecting circuit (top view)
R1 = 240 OHM, 5%
D1 = 1N4002
D2 = 1N4002
P1 = 5K, POTENTIOMETER
FUSE = 110V, 500 MA, SLOW-BLOW, FUSE HOLDER, WIRE, SOLDER, CASE, KNOB FOR P1
RED & BLACK BANANA JACKS
Drill the holes for the banana jacks, on/off switch, and LED
and make the cut-out for the meter. It is best to mount everything
in such a way that you are able to trouble-shoot your circuit
board with ease if needed. One more note about the on-off
switch S1, this switch has 110VAC power to it. After soldering,
insulate the bare spots with a bit of silicon gel. Works great
and prevents electrical shock through accidental touching.
There are various books in the market from where we have drawn our
inspiration. Few of the books to be named are as follows : -
