Fiziologie

Aplicata
Curs optional
Martite – Aprilie 2019

Coordonator:
Conf. dr. Adelina Vlad
Preambul
 Optionalul ‘Fiziologie aplicata’ urmareste sa
integreze notiunile unei discipline fundamentale,
fiziologia, in programul de pregatire clinica a
studentilor medicinisti din anul III, cu scopul de a
relua si actualiza notiuni teoretice utile pentru o
intelegere aprofundata a patologiei medicale,
dar si de a induce deprinderea abordarii
fundamentate a practicii clinice, prin raportarea
la mecanismele fiziologice si fiziopatologice care
stau la baza diagnosticului, tratamentului si
prognosticului diverselor afectiuni.
Tematica
 ‘Corelatii fiziologie si patologice intre sistemul cardiovascular si functia renala’, Dr.
Dorin Dragos

 “Modele matematice in biologie. Aplicatii in aritmologie”, Dr. Luca Liviu Bilteanu

 “Cauzele psihoemotionale ale bolilor”, Dr. Dorin Dragos

 “Bazele neurochimice ale emotiilor”, Dr. Liana Kobylinska

 “Interactiunea cord-pulmon in conditii normale si patologice”, Dr. Sebastian Isac

 ‘’Mecanisme ale hipoxemiei si hipercapniei in sindromul de detresa respiratorie”, Dr.

Sebastian Isac

 ‘Impactul insuficientei hepatice asupra functiilor renala si respiratorie’, Dr. Denise

Applied Physiology
 Adaptive physiology – adaptations related to
 aging and pathophysiological conditions
 external environment – altitude, pressure,
temperature, hypoxia etc

 Integrative physiology
 Horizontal integration across organ systems
 Vertical integration from molecule to cell to organ
PHYSIOLOGY IN MEDICINE: LINKING
MEDICINE WITH SCIENCE

 ’… the Journal of Applied Physiology currently features

Physiology in Medicine articles that explain the physiological
basis of a disease, its diagnosis, and its management for
practicing physicians; a feature that addresses a concern of
physicians that was raised more than 200 years ago!’

 The aim of this series is to provide practicing MDs and/or

researchers an up-to-date physiological understanding of
disease with the proper application of new molecular models
and tools. Articles published in this series are intended to
provide a thoughtful and lucid linkage of science to the
patient.

Clinical and Translational
Physiology
 ‘Clinical and Translational Medicine is devoted to
encompassing all areas of physiology that provide
insights that can be translated to clinical
applications.

 This includes basic research through clinical

studies, as well as animal studies that provide
novel translational insights.

 The goal is to integrate advances in physiology

into clinical medicine.’

 ‘...a collection of carefully selected patient
case studies that cover the clinically relevant
physiology topics...’

 ‘Each chapter presents a series of cases

followed by questions and problems that
emphasize the most important physiologic
principles. The questions require students to
perform complex, multistep reasoning, and to
think integratively across the organ systems.’

 ‘…clinical scenarios provide an appropriate
springboard for exploring the pathophysiology that
leads to the development of specific symptoms, the
progression of the disease process, and the appropriate
clinical and therapeutic interventions that can be used
to treat a patient.’
 ‘Clinical practice is continually improving based on
outcomes of medical and physiological research.
Health practitioners need to become comfortable with
their role as perpetual students’
