Daily band routine
A look into the hectic and busy life of a MacArthur high schooler
Drawing and Photography has always
been easy for Kandy Hernandez for the past 5
years since she had gotten enrolled in her local
art class in Irving during elementary school.
Over the years, ever since her 6th
grade year, Kandy has gotten better at her
drawing abilities and skills and for that she can
thank practicing.
There were multiple times she has
gotten upset during practicing, “There were
times I would get frustrated during practice
because there was something I couldn’t draw
correctly, or it didn’t look the way I pictured it in
my head” Kandy stated.
This enthusiastic drawer and
photographer loves to capture flicks of the sky
and later re-creating them on an art canvas to
show her friends and family her new work.
Watching the sky change before her
very eyes is her favorite thing to see, “The sky is
never the same as it was the day before, every
sunrise and sunset is different each day and no
matter what it is always beautiful.” said Kandy.
For Kandy drawing and photography
is a way to let out her emotions, with the help
of a camera and or paint brushes, she can
capture and recreate the emotions she felt so
that her audience can feel and experience it as
well.

The first thing kandy does is then kandy brushes her teeth she proceeds to get dressed

While it is time consuming, she loves what

Being in band and playing an instrument is
also something Kandy is passionate about since
middle school.
Band is a way for her to play music from
her mind, “At times ill hear a rhythm in my head and
then try to mimic it on my clarinet.” stated Kandy.
Besides some of Kandy's favorite hobbies,
Kandy also loves to run because it helps clear her
mind and reduces her stress levels.
There are points in time where Kandy is
overstressed and just needs to run and think,
“Running no matter the speed or duration always
makes me feel better because of the adrenaline rush
that overcomes me once running.” said Kandy.
While running Kandy usually listens to
music but it is not just any type of music, it is metal
music, preferably by Metallica, one of the most
knows artist in the Metal music genre.
Metallica makes her pumped up and ready
to overcome and obstacle she might be facing,
“Metal music helps me keep my mind focused on just
one thing, the beat of the songs gives me almost an
energy rush that is an incredible feeling.”
