Santiago National High School with a school ID 307717 is situated at Barangay Santiago, a four (4) km

barangay from Poblacion, Malvar, Batangas.


The school is consist of three buildings: VSR, RGR and SEF, with five hundred and nineteen (519)
enrollees for the school year 2017- 2018. School facilities’ includes offices of principal and guidance counselor,
computer room, two (2) student nooks as the hub of students’ studies, projects and activities, twelve (12)
classrooms- each equipped with 40” LED televisions for more effective instruction, and there are 16 sets of
Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) for safety and monitoring purposes. In addition, the school has its own covered
court, and multi-function hall - space devoted for art, music, physical education, stage plays, and resource
programs. Chairs, comfort rooms, hand- washing facilities and water supply are adequate, however, there are
insufficient supply of books and modules compared to the standard ratio. Fortunately, electricity and internet
connections are available.
The school principal, two (2) administrative officers, twenty- six (26) nationally funded teachers are
more than enough to provide students with instructional experiences that are challenging and personalized.
Professional growth and development are strictly enhanced by their continuous study and attending training
and seminars to meet the desire competencies based on Results- Based Performance Monitoring Standards
(RPMS).
School priority improvement projects focused on the development of instructional materials and for the
up keeping of the students and school safety. Therefore, projects such as the provision of school service van and
school beautification projects has been provided worked- out and maintained by the Parent-Teachers
Association (PTA). Numerous attendance of stakeholders and parents on general assemblies and Parent-
Teachers Conferences shows their support on the school projects and curricular.
MOOE worth 398, 000.00 covered the expenditures of the school maintenance for the S. Y. 2018 and
was properly liquidated. SEF allocated two million (2,000,000.00) for the continuation of the construction of
phase two SEF building and another seven thousand (700,000.00) for improvements of SEF classrooms,
electrical system, canteen, and student nook. Provincial Office allocated two and six million (2.6) for the repair
and improvement of VSR and RGR Buildings. Canteen fund supported the training of teachers and students as
well as school feeding program. Other funds were provided by the PTA fund raising projects, private companies
and persons in kind.
The enrollment data shows a moderate increase of students for the last 3 years. Majority, 96% of the
students were able to attend and sustain their stay in school, whereas, 4% were not able to because of the
reason that they need to work- to serve as the bread winner of the family.
Attendance of the students is satisfactory, and their absences were because of illness, poverty and family
problems. Drop-out with ___% rate has also been reported with mostly the same above reason. In line with
these problems, the Augmentation of DepEd’s Zero Collection Policy, DSWD 4P’s Program, Barangay
Scholarship, and Municipal Math and Science Incentive Programs were strictly imposed and provided to be able
to help the parents and students to sustain their stay in school and abled to reduce the dropout rate for the last
three (3) years.
School promotion rete is high, graduation rate was almost 100% for the three consecutive years.
Interventions such as Project READ or Reading Enhancement Advocacy for Student Development, and Thirty-
Minute to Win It: a reading class program, were able to increase the literacy rate and reduced the backlogs of
students with low rating in reading and comprehension. Other significant learnings such as communication and
performance arts skills in all learning areas has also been acquired by the students through the Quarterly
Culminating Activities.
Santiago National High School is committed to provide a world-class education in an innovative, student-

with focus on high expectations, academic achievement, and education of the whole child, and believe the
shared responsibility of the family, the school district and the community. As the result, the school received
several recognitions in athletics, science quest and others from the past few years and still on growing progress
to serve the main purpose of an educational institution.
