BACKGROUND OF THE SCHOOL

Pantay Bata Elementary School is located at Barangay Pantay Bata,Tanauan
City in the Province of Batangas Region IV-A CALABARZON which was established in 1967.
The school is in the middle of Ulango Integrated School and Pantay Matanda Elementary
School and Pantay Integrated School. It is also known as a “Gateway of Changes and
Progress and about 6 kilometers away from Schools Division Office.

The school is situated near First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) wherein
different factories and locators were in the Barangay which invite families to migrate due to
varied job opportunities that resulted to growth of total enrolled learners. There is a
continuous increase in enrolment as shown in our school report card, from Academic Year
2019, with 263 pupils up to the present with a total of 272 enrollees. The number of teaching
personnel also increased from 10 teachers in 2019 to 11 teachers at present.

Zero crime and theft has been reported because the whole barangay has
CCTV that is connected to the barangay hall to ensure security and safety. The barangay and
school prepared contingency plan in case typhoons and earthquake occur. The school was
challenged by typhoons, Taal Volcanic Eruption, and the COVID-19 pandemic for the last
three school years. In response, the barangay and school prepared contingency plans.

There are 9 instructional and 8 non- instructional rooms. The enrolment is 286
and 260 seats are available, so it is insufficient because of the increasing number of
enrolments due to migration. As of now, we have 4 handwashing facilities with 14 faucets.
The toilet learner ratio is 24:1.

As for the health and nutrition of learners, during SY 2020-2021 the school
had 106 School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) beneficiaries while currently 142 learners
from kindergarten to Grade VI were benefitted. Checking of the Body Mass Index (BMI) of
learners this year happened to identify these beneficiaries. In effect, learners who were
identified as below normal health status for this school year remained the SBFP
beneficiaries. Additionally, all learners from all levels had received one (1) sachet of MILO
energy drink and one (1) toothbrush/toothpaste.

Several awards and recognitions were continuously received by the pupils and
teachers in academic and non-academic competitions. In 2019, the Division Search for Best
Gulayan sa Paaralan Pantay Bata Elementary School was adjudged as the 3rd placer, in
Inter-School Sports Competition, PBES Athletes like Basketball players got 1st place award,
Volleyball players ranked 2nd placer, Athletics players for 1000-meter run ranked 1st place. In

Additionally, the school’s effort together with the stakeholders’ support, during
this pandemic time the school was able to bring out the school library hub into the community
by putting up the first ever community reading hub and learning library in Tanauan City to
address the needs in supplementary reading activities to our learners. Various support and
projects were given by the Sangguniang Barangay to the school such as school supplies
from Kinder to Grade 6,

There is a continuous increase in enrolment based on LIS data,2018-2019-

253,2019-2020- 263,2020-2021-273,2021-2022-288. The number of teaching personnel also
increased from 10 teachers in 2019 to 11 teachers at present. Even though there is an
increase in enrolment drop -out rate also increased.

Despite the challenges brought by the pandemic, Pantay Bata Elementary

School adapted the changes that happened in the opening of classes. Hindrance is not a
threat to overcome learning. The stakeholders pledge to commit their full support for the
success of basic education learning continuity plan that has paved its way. With the support
of LGUs, such as providing the teachers such educational equipment together with their
medical necessities, so as disinfections of the school facilities and entire community realized
to fight challenges of the new normal set up. The teachers attended virtual webinars to be
fully equipped with this kind of situation. Thus, the school adapted the modular distance
learning modality because not all the pupils have their gadgets and can access the internet.
At present, the school is now implementing face-to-face classes.

Looking into the school’s data and listing what must be given attention,
different areas were evaluated. Results from the Focused Group Discussion and interviews
from stakeholders were given due attention. The school’s periodic tracking results became
one of the priorities because of the identifying gaps. Most of the learning subject with its
learning competencies did not hit the national target of 85% in all learning subject the fact the
that we experienced suspension of classes due to Taal Volcano eruption plus the impact
brought to us by the Covid 19 pandemic. Struggling readers increased to 77 pupils as result
of pre-reading assessment Phil-IRI S.Y.2021-2022. School-Based Feeding Program caters
142 nutritionally challenged children.

To identify the key priority improvement areas that need immediate attention,
the school planning team had a deep analysis of the root causes considering the strategic
importance, urgency, magnitude, and feasibility of the offered solutions.

The school is so lucky to have a functional and very supportive Local

Government Unit wherein the electricity and water bills are being shouldered, thus the
School’s Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses Fund goes solely to the procurement
of instructional and office supplies needed for instruction.

new technologies and changes in teaching and learning methods.

Fear of technology, lack of digital literacy skills, and dislike to change can hinder the
successful adoption and utilization of learning technology.

e. System in Place to Utilize Technology in the Curriculum

The lack of a well-defined framework or plan to integrate technology into the
curriculum can lead to inconsistent adoption and utilization across classrooms.

Absence of guidelines and support for curriculum alignment and assessment

practices may result in superficial or ineffective integration of learning technology.

f. Devices and Software (Reliable and Unreliable):

Unequal access to reliable devices and software among students and schools can
create differences and limit the equitable utilization of learning technology.

Technical issues, compatibility problems, and software glitches can disrupt the
learning process and reduce the efficiency of technology-enabled teaching and learning.
