Algebra 2

A. Materials
Students must bring to class daily
1. 3 ring binder (with loose leaf)
2. Pen/pencil (Blue or Black) AND (Red or Green or Purple….)
3. Graphing Calculator (this will be supplied to you by the school. You need to supply the
batteries as needed)

B. Homework/Alternate Assessments: 10% of your quarter average


1. Homework will be assigned almost every night 2.
Homework must be done in blue or black ink or pencil
3. Homework will be checked and corrected every day.
4. You are responsible for making your own corrections. Corrections must be
done in another color other than blue or black ink
5. You are responsible for getting the missing assignments when you are absent.
You must make them up as soon as possible. You have at most one week to make
up missing assignments. (The same rule applies to tests and quizzes.)

C. Tests/Quizzes: 90% of your quarter average


You can expect approximately 3-5 tests per quarter.
Quizzes may be announced or unannounced.
Tests will always be announced.
You should expect a test or quiz weekly.

D. Final Average Calculations


20% of each marking period
8 % Midterm
12 % Final Exam (Regents)
E. Class Rules
1. Be on Time! You must be seated and ready to work when the
bell rings.

2. Raise your hand and wait to be called on when


answering/asking a question

3. No one is to get out of his/her seat unless directed to do so

4. No one is to pack up his/her belongings before class has ended

5. No one is to use a cell phone during or between


classes. If I see the use of a cell phone at any time,
the cell phone will then be sent to the dean’s office.
(Make sure all phones are turned off)

6. No one is to eat or drink during class. (with the exception of


water)

7. All bags must be placed under your desk.


Your desk should only have the books needed for this class.

8. If you need to use the bathroom, you must sign in and out
and take the pass. (Please remember to return with the pass).

Extra Help is available on Wednesdays in room 315.
