NAME OF THE PROJECT :SAFETY FROM DISASTERS & HAZARDS

INTRODUCTION: Today safety from disasters has become the matter of concern even for
developed countries. Every second day we listen to the news of thousands deaths around the word due
to disasters like earthquakes volcanos tsunami , gas leakage and fire eruption from nuclear plants and
other chemical using industries and also the life threats from floods.

SYNOPSIS OF THE MODEL: this model is a working model which illustrates the causes of above
mentioned, life threatening hazards and the safety from these disasters .It not only explains but also
illustrates apparently the basic cause of these disasters and safety measures which can be used in these
circumstances . first of all this model explains the plate tectonics principle and cause of earthquakes and
use of seismograph to check the intensity of earthquake then it elaborates on the safety measures as
how we can save our life from earthquake by designing the houses in a way that they withstand the
vibrations of earthquakes as shown in the picture

It also elaborates on how we can get the alarm of earthquakes hours before the earthquake actually
starts .This can be used by sensor technique used at the base of continental plates which will send the
signals to earthquake control rooms when the continental plates will be about to converge or diverge
The signals will be sent to satellites which will send the signals to the earthquake alarming insruments at
home /offices to make the people alert and their life can be saved. In addition to this this model also
explains the safety measures from typhoons, floods , LPG AND other gas lickage, safety and fire safety
through working models.
