Calm Down Strategies 

 
1. Take a deep breath (try square breathing) 
2. Count backwards from 10, 20, or even 100 
3. Think of your favorite place in your mind and picture 
yourself there 
4. Think of your favorite song and sing it in your mind 
5. Think of your favorite color and silently notice where you 
see it in the room 
6.Think of your favorite animal and what makes that animal 
your favorite 
7. Give yourself a hand massage for 10 seconds  
8. Clinch your hands in a fist as tight as you can for 5 
seconds, then release and feel the difference as your 
muscles relax 
9.Rub your palms together quickly for 3 seconds then 
release and feel the warm and tingle in your hands 
10. Give a compliment to a friend or teacher and mean it 
 
Tried these and still not calming down?
