Dolores contreras (DC): good and you?
(NS): good thank you, so i am going to make you some questions and i am going to be recording
the conversation.
(DC): okay perfect let start.
(NS) what the favorite part of your work day?
(DC): what's the best part of my day at work, mmm , let me think. When i get good results from
my clients.
(NS): okay
(NS): what inspired you to choose this career ?
(DC):what inspires me to do this career mm , being able to help people when they are in difficult
situations, money (laughing) just kidding, i think just that.
(NS): what is a highlight from your career ?
(DC): winning trial
(NS): what makes you come to work everyday ?
(DC): Mm let me think, maybe knowing that a lot of people depend on what I do and knowing
that I help them with problems they have.
(NS): what is something you enjoy to do outside of work ?
(DC): being with my family, with my baby twins, going on vacation and shop online (laughing)
(NS): aww thats so cute I didn't know you had baby twins
(DC): yea they are 10 months, they are growing so fast, they turn 1 year on the 4th of july.
(NS): oh my god 4th of july babies (laughing)
(DC): (laughing) yes everyone says that
(NS): next question, what do you consider your greatest achievement in your career ?
(DC): owning my own law firm and being able to employ people.
(NS): i feel like um its scary to open a law firm all on you own
(DC): it really is
(NS): another question, what do you consider the most difficult part of your day, how do you
overcome ?
(DC): um (silence) dealing with uncooperative attorneys on the other end and I overcome it by
doing what I can on my part to facilitate that and if it's still difficult to deal with that person i
know i did my part by trying things.
(NS): are there many attorneys that just like dont help you at all or a little bit ? because that like
messed up
(DC): I know, well there are some attorneys mostly family law that take everything so seriously
like if we were divorcing them and i'm just like thinking we are not getting a divorce its are
clients they can be really annoying.
(NS): that horrible, so um what steps did you take to obtain this position you have right now ?
(DC): well i went to college then i went to law school worked at a law firm then I opened my
own law firm worked 7 days a week mostly all day until I could get my law firm where its at
now .
(NS): what was one of the most difficult point in your career and how did you get past it ?
(DC): starting my own business and not having any clients I did everything I could to overcome
it going to events promoting it online and just believing in myself and know I am very happy.
(NS): did you ever just want to give up during college ?
(DC): no (laughing) the alternative was to well I mean not having a better life, college opens a
lot of better opportunities and not continuing college was not an option for me because I
wouldn't have been where I am now.
(DC): it was so great to have you here for a whole month, i am also really glad that you chose to
intern with us that is very special, did you learn a lot of things ?
(NS): i did i actually did at first I thought that I knew a lot about attorneys but at the end of the
day when I came here like um i didn't know as much as I thought. I am glad that I got the
opportunity to intern here because i got to learn a lot of things.
(DC): when is your last day of school ?
(NS): technically may 19, but we don't need to go for the rest of that week so like um the 14
maybe.
(NS): im gonna stop recording now (laughing)
(DC): I thought you stop recording like 2 min ago (laughing)
