BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

 Born in Puerto Princesa City,Palawan in 19th of August


1995.
 Graduated her Secondary Level at Palawan National
High School year 2008.
 Taking up Bachelor in Public Administration at
Western Philippines University, Puerto Princesa
Campus.
 She established herself as a self-starter and leader
through her volunteer experiences. She served as a
Supreme Student Council-Senator Sy: 2012-2013, a
Treasurer Sy: 2013-2014 and a Governor of the College
of Business and Management student Organization sy:
2014-2005 and was a volunteer member of Philippine-
Leadership and Empowerment Alliance for
Development.
 She is also an active member of Performing arts, Pep
Squad, Dance troupe and Cultural.
 During her summers she worked as Teacher-Aide at the
City P.E.S.O under their programmed SPES (Special
Program for the Employment of Students) and also
worked as a part-timer Student Aide at the College of
Business and Management.
 During her tenure in her college life she learn lot of
thing that improved her skills that she can used in her
future goals and can be apply to be more effective and
efficient public servant .
 She is not really excelled in terms in academic but she
always want to participate and join in some extra-
curricular activities that being offered.
 In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her
family and hanging out with her friends.
 She is taking strides in making her imagination become
her reality.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

1. Provide the intern the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge, skills and

attitude in the actual government office operations.

2. Develop and enhance the intern work, values, competence, disciples and the

ability as they relate to different personalities and environment.

3. Enhance the global competitiveness of interns through their internship and

exposure in the government offices and department.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

1. To prepare the intern to become effective and productive employee someday.

2. To enhance favourable attitude, loyalty, cooperation’s and skills of the interns.

3. To prepare the intern to become more matured in different aspects of their life that

will lead them to become more responsible to their chosen career.

4. To enhance the ability of the intern in solving problem in the office and with their

people.

5. To prepare the intern to be an effective public administrator

6. Develop the intern to become a competitive public administrator that will

contribute to the development of the country.


CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

Our school, Western Philippine University let us students to engage and

experience the things happening in the actual world of Public Service through our On-

The-Job-Training(Internship) in Government Agency ,Private , and other establishments

related. We have given 360 hours to undergo and pursue this training that will help us to

acquire knowledge and skills that will serve as a tool to face the challenges of life in the

future. It will set our mind of what does a real world of service is all about. Others think

that public administration matters only on becoming a public official, a certain position in

political. It also somewhat related to the development of our skills in communication,

leadership and management. Thus, experience is vital to one’s improvement and

preparing students to their career is the best way to set them on success.

On-the-job training, also known as OJT, is teaching the skills, knowledge, and

competencies that are needed to perform a specific job within the workplace and work

environment this was one of the best training method because it is planned, organized and

conducted at the employee work site. This training will generally help the student to

increase their productivity and skills. It also helps the students to become a young

professional. It helps the students to acquire relevant knowledge and skills by performing

in actual work setting.


To hold this On-The-Job-Training, Michelle S. Abia, an Public administration

student has chosen the office of Board Member Marivic H. Roxas of 2nd District of

Palawan as a training ground in promoting professionalism.

LEGISLATIVE BULIDING
PROVINCE OF PALAWAN

VISION STATEMENT

An effective and efficient local Legislative branch that actively promotes the

over-all development of the province and of its people.

MISSION STATEMENT

 Provide leadership and direction to the Sangguniang

Panlalawigan in the passing of resolutions and

ordinances that is geared towards an efficient and

effective administration of the province;

 Give full assistance to the local chief executive in

carrying out functions necessary for the realization of

its vision and mission.


HISTROCAL BACKGROUND

Seat of its provincial law-making body, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of

Palawan and Stately symbol of vibrant local legislation, an indispensable requisite of

good governance.

In these august halls, Palaweňos legislators will speak with freedom, with dignity

and with responsibility greater service to their province and to their people.

A vital infrastructure Project of Hon. Joel T. Reyes, Governor of Palawan with the

full support of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan headed by Hon. David A. Ponce De Leon,

Vice Governor and Presiding Officer.

CHAPTER III

ASSESSMENT OF PRACTICUM PROGRAM

SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENT

They say that nothing beats experience, as one of my admirer said it is one of the

learning tools. On-the-job training gives us a taste of the real world–a glimpse of what

lies ahead after we graduate.

“One of the most important things I’ve learned is that talent alone is not enough.

It is important, but it is no guarantee of success. One must also be hard working and

should practice self-discipline. Sacrifice is important, too.

“In almost four months of my training I have lots of memorable experiences. “I

learned it’s best to do and show your best. Ask your boss if they have some work for you

to do.

“I learned through experience how to interact and communicate with people.

Knowing how to handle and tackle different issues and still be diplomatic in both action

and words is important.

As Mr. Randy Ailemi Valdez, say; “It will be so exciting in the ‘real’ world,

being independent and figuring things out on your own. This also means having to deal

with different people more often, so it is really good to know what you’re doing, and to

love it. All we can do as students is to learn whatever we can in school, be inspired, love

the path we take, and finally do our best in everything we do, with a positive outlook in

mind.” —Randy Ailemi Valdez, 19, International Studies under the track of International

Politics, with a Minor of Peace Studies, Miriam College


PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED AND SOLUTIONS DONE

Everyone has a problem, even in school, family and organization. When I was on
my training at the Office of Board Member Roxas, I encountered problem which is the
feeling of being not welcome in their company, I felt that some employees don’t like me,
maybe they don’t want me to be part of their tasks. This problem isn’t a big deal, I didn’t
say to anyone about my feeling I just kept it on my own because I’m not sure if my
feelings is true. Maybe my interpretation was wrong that’s why I persuade to do my best
to finish my tasks that they given. Maybe God was testing my patience at that time. As
the day passes, I realized that my analysis about them was wrong. They’re just only
serious during working hours but they are so very comfortable to mingle with during a
little time for break.

RECOMMENDATIONS

 To College of Business and Management


1. Observe the student in the work setting, discuss areas of strengths and
weaknesses.
2. Conducts regular observations and evaluation of the performance of
the student-trainees
3. Coordinates regularly with the practicum partners regarding the
performance of the student-trainees.
4. Review, orient, interpret and clarify to the student/trainees the
objectives of the on-the-job training program.
 To the Partner Agency
1. Work assignments should be clearly explained by the partner
institution/company/office to ensure that the duties, role and
responsibilities of the student/trainee is clearly defined and outlined.
2. Assign a focal person to serve as On-Site Supervisor who will monitor
the student/trainee’s overall work performance including demeanour,
competence and professionalism.
3. Issue a Certificate of Completion to the student/trainee upon
completion of the on-the-job training program.

 To the future OJT Students


1. Observe office rules, organizational culture, and protocols
2. Communicate and be team-focused
3. Always observe discipline and right conduct in performing his/her task
while on training.
4. Observe ethics in the workplace. Wear the appropriate dress code.
5. Apply classroom learning/s in the OJT workplace
6. Give your best since the OJT host is a prospective employer.
