Condition for this theorem

For Millman’s theorem to be applicable,

 a given circuits should be redraw-able to a series of branches

 and each branch should have a resistor element in it.

The above circuit has three branches: ACB, AB and ADB. All these branches has at least one resistor element in it. So
the conditions required for Millman’s theorem to be applicable are satisfied.

Where, V = Volatge drop across each branch {it will be same}

So let’s calculate V for the above circuit, 𝟏 𝟏 𝟏 = 𝟒. 𝟖

𝟔 𝟔 𝟏𝟐

The beauty of this approach is that the calculation is just a one-step formula!

The results are summarized as below

Resistance Voltage Drop, V Current, Amp Direction

R1 = 6 4.8 – 6 = -1.2 0.2 C to A
R2 = 6 4.8 0.8 A to B
R3 = 12 4.8 – 12 = -7.2 0.6 D to A

This is one of the shortcut tricks to solve complex electrical circuit problems.
