HON. GOV. EMMYLOU J. TALIÑO-MENDOZA

GOVERNOR
PROVINCE OF COTABATO

Dear Ma’am:

Praised be Jesus and Mary!

I was happy to know that your institution was offering a scholarship grant to those lucky
students. My goal in life was to finish my studies, and I want to go to a university that
will cater my needs of education and to pursue engineering course. I’ve been dreaming
to become a professional engineer since I was in high school. My mother was a laborer
and my father was a farmer, they both sustain my studies but due to financial
constraints they cannot fully provide my needs and there was no way they can afford
my tuition. Thus, this scholarship means a lot to me and I will try my best to prove
worthy of it and perform better than your expectations.

I am currently studying at Notre Dame of Makilala, Inc., a Science, Technology,

Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) student. I am an academic honor and also a
scholar student of the school. I’ve been a scholar student since grade 8 and until now I
am serving the school. I was an active student, I engaged in different activities in our
school and I am also a class mayor and a grade 12 representative.

I know that you will receive numerous applications for this scholarship. But I am hoping
that you will consider my application and allow me to fulfill my dream of being an
engineer. My chosen course was challenging and difficult, however, I feel and I know it
to myself that I can arise from the challenges. To be an engineer means everything to
me, but with the cost of room and board, books and all the other expenses, it will going
to be tight. Education was the only thing I have to reach for my goals in life and it is only
the given gift by my parents, which I can treasure of. For no one can stole it from you,
because education is a learning process. With that, I do appreciate your consideration.

Sincerely,

PRINCES I. JASMIN
