2014 INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

As part of the government’s move to promote its “2014 Independence Day,” the Department of Education
in the Batangas provinces, called for its solemn celebration by directing all DepEd personnel (teaching and
non-teaching staff) to a flag raising rite in their respective schools and offices.

The flag raising rite at Tungal Elementary School was carried-out in the presence of the PTA President and
the rest of the PTA officers, the Barangay officials, and the TES teaching staff.

In line with the DepEd’s mandate to promote nationalism and devotion to ones country, Tungal Elementary
School through the collaborative effort of Mrs. Merilyn B. Mirano, Hekasi Coordinator, has prepared a
series of activities in the morning of June 11th in order to celebrate the occasion.
These include:
 Activity devoted to reading stories on how we acquired our independence.
 The parading of flags by the pupils during the flag ceremony.

These are just few of creative ways of cultivating one’s nationalism; and that, it is an important doorway
to the progress of our country and to show the world that we are a strong nation.
