DEVELOPMENT
The Landing 15 T will display a picture taken at Gallipoli showing the terrain, and
will ask Ss why they think the invading force was disadvantaged
whilst the defending force had an advantage. Following this the
video “The Sea Turns Red” will be shown to the Ss.
Aspects of Daily Life 15 In table groups Ss will research the aspects of daily life at
Gallipoli (Food, Water, Shelter, Hygiene, Daily Tasks When Not
Fighting, To Relieve Boredom).
Diary Entry 20 Ss will write a diary entry from the perspective of an ANZAC
following the landing at ANZAC cove.
CLOSURE
Recap 5 T will recap the key points regarding the beginning of Gallipoli
and the daily life that soldiers experienced.
