“TRAINING MATRIX ON A TWO-DAY SCHOOL-BASED TRAINING-WORKSHOP

ON JOURNALISM (FOCUSING ON SCHOOL PAPER MANAGEMENT) ”

I- RATIONALE

We are now in the new era of the fast changing world. In globalization time, we need
an extra effort to generate updates in educational system to make changes, for improved
academic outcomes. Driven by the will to enhance learning and the commitment to be a
part of the success of Campus Journalism of the district and the division, and in the pursuit
to educational reforms and upgrade performance in journalistic skills and School Paper
Management, it is really a must for everyone connected to journalism to rejuvenate and to
continue learning.

It is therefore anticipated that school administrators and teachers to institute training

workshop to direct the learners/pupil journalists to be competitive in the field of writing;
and develop their ability and potential to their fullest and the best that we can in the said
avenue of learning.

II- OBJECTIVES

In consonance with R.A. 7079, otherwise known as Campus Journalism Act of

1991, this school shall conduct Training Workshop on Campus Journalism (Focusing on
School Paper Management).

1. To familiarize campus paper advisers with the theories and practices of

journalism.
2. To orient the campus paper advisers and pupil journalists with the new trends and
techniques in journalism and broadcasting.
3. To produce a school paper in preparation for the DSPC, RSPC, and NSPC.
4. To craft an action plan for the conduct of school-based-campus journalism.

III- PARTICIPANTS

The participants are the school paper advisers and aspiring journalists in
Mamburao Central School.

Note: Every participant must bring with them laptop, extension wires, printer and A4 size
bondpapers and a Registration Fee amounting to P30.00.

V- RECOMMENDATION

If the Educational system is to serve and deliver quality reforms, then it has to be
responsive to the needs of our clientele.
This training workshop for School Paper Advisers and aspiring journalists helps in
the success of Mamburao Central School from the DSPC up to NSPC. It is advisable
to the School administrators for this kind of training to be conducted yearly.
