Lesson 1
PYTHAGOREAN THEOREM

Converse of the Pythagorean Theorem

-If the square of the longest side of a triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of
the other two sides, then the triangle is a right triangle.

𝑐 2 = 𝑎2 + 𝑏 2

b c

C a B

Parts of the Right Triangle How to solve the values?

c = Hypotenuse Formulas:
- Longest side of at triangle
- Opposite to the Right Angle ∠C

𝒄 = √𝑎2 + 𝑏 2
a = side of a triangle

b = side of a triangle
𝒂 = √𝑐 2 − 𝑏 2
C = Right Angle of the triangle
- Equal to 90°
𝒃 = √𝑐 2 − 𝑎2
A = angle of the triangle

B = angle of a triangle
