Community Resources

Provided is a list of social agencies that provide support and services to the students, faculty, and
administration at East Bank Middle School and a brief description of their services and ways they
have helped the school.

Agency Service
Cabin Creek Health Center The CCHC has multiple sites, one physically
inside EBMS, which provides services to
students, faculty, administration, and
community members of EBMS. These
services include both physical and mental
health.
Local Churches Feed sports teams, feed children for after
school activities donate food, donate funding
for children that need clothing and school
supplies
Local Volunteer Fire Departments Volunteer time for parades, point of
distribution for food for children when it is
unavailable at the school to be picked up.
They are central locations for communities
and raised money for food pantry and for
induvial in need when contacted by the
school.
Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Respond to calls at EBMS, assist with
Authority parades, respond to calls within the
community, collect donations to benefit
students.
East Bank Police Responds to calls, provides ALICE trainings
and other safety trainings, talks with students
about drug and alcohol abuse, frequent
security checks at the school. Makes presence
known and candidly talks with students, staff,
and administration to build relationship..
Informs school of “Handle With Care”
situation.
Kanawha County Sheriff Responds to calls, provides ALICE trainings
and other safety trainings, talks with students
about drug and alcohol abuse, frequent
security checks at the school. Makes presence
known and candidly talks with students, staff,
and administration to build relationship..

WV State Police Responds to calls, provides ALICE trainings

Riverside High School Warrior Closet and Warrior Food Pantry
access to community. JROTC and other
groups/teams from the school come to speak
with our students to talk about options
available in high school to help them develop
more as individual students.
Carver Career Center Offers free haircuts to faculty, staff, and
students, demonstrations of programs for
students, works in association with local
schools to provide services performed by
Carver students when able.
Town of East Bank (and other local Local townships often frequent the school,
municipalities) offering assistance and resources to students
and staff when needed.
“Friends of the Bank” Local community group that assists with
donations and funding for student activities,
sporting events, holiday gifts, and food for
students.
Highland Hospital Behavioral health care and therapy services
for students and KCS employees.
Prestera Center Behavioral health care and therapy services
for students and KCS employees.
YMCA of Montgomery Teen mentoring, physical activities,
partnership with communities and school,
donated free one-year memberships to
residents of Montgomery.
WV Department of Health & Human Provides services such as referrals for
Services students and families that need assistance
financially or medically.
American Federation of Teachers Provides union benefits provided to teachers
and staff.
WV Education Association Provides union benefits to administration and
teachers.
WV School Service Personnel Association Provides union benefits to service personnel.
WV Association of Secondary School Organization to benefit administration.
Principals
Child Protective Services Frequently visits the school to check on
students who have experienced traumatic
home situations or have been removed from
their homes.
