1. The reverse saturation current of a silicon PN diode is 10μA. Calculate the diode current for
the forward-bias voltage of 0.6V at 25oC.
2. The diode current is 0.6mA when the applied voltage is 400mV and 20mA when the applied

3. A half wave rectifier, having a resistive load of 1000Ω rectifies an alternating voltage of
325V peak value and the diode has a forward resistance of 100Ω. Calculate (a) peak,
average and rms values of current (b) dc power output (c) ac input power and (d) efficiency
of the rectifier.

1. Determine the forward bias voltage applied to a silicon diode to cause a forward current of
10mA and reverse saturation current Io = 25×10-7 A at room temperature.
2. The common base dc current gain of a transistor is 0.967. If the emitter current is 10mA,
what is the value of base current?
3. The reverse leakage current of the transistor when connected in CB configuration is 0.2μA
and it is 18μA when the same transistor is connected in CE configuration. Calculate αdc and
βdc of the transistor.

1. For a non inverting amplifier, the gain required is 61. If the input resistance is 1kΩ, find the
value of feedback resistance Rf.
2. An input step voltage of 4V is fed to an operational amplifier integrator with RC = 1sec. Find
the output and sketch.
3. For a Schmitt trigger circuit, calculate the trip points and hysteresis , if Vsat = plus or minus
13.5V.

1. Design a monostable for a pulse width of 10ms by using IC555.


2. For the RC phase shift oscillator assume the suitable value of capacitor and calculate value of
R for the frequency of 1kHz.
3. Calculate the value of Rf and C if R1 =1kΩ, R = 100kΩ and oscillator frequency of 100kHz
in the case of Wien bridge oscillator.
