a. An asteroid is a pile of rock in the outer space which is said to
be debris from the formation of the solar system.
b. Meteoroids are pieces of small rocks near the Earth’s orbit.
c. Meteors are meteoroids dragged by the Earth’s gravity and
travels very fast in the atmosphere making it burn due to gas
compression.
d. Meteorites are meteors that survived the atmosphere and
landed the Earth’s crust.

III. Procedure
ELLICIT
-Review the characteristics of a comet, its origin and the importance of studying
it.
ENGAGE
-Pose motive questions:
-What do you do whenever you saw a shooting star?
-is a shooting a star?
-How big is an asteroid?
-How big is a meteor?
EXPLORE
-The class will be grouped into three.
-Students are going to watch a short video all about asteroids and meteors.
-Students will jot down important details about the videos.
EXPLAIN
-Teacher poses formative questions.
-Representative from each group will answer the question and each correct
answer will gain a point for the group.
ELABORATE
-Teacher poses motive questions about the importance of studying heavenly
bodies.
EXTEND
-Teacher calls students to summarize the discussion about comets, asteroids
and meteors.
EVALUATE
-Let students create a Venn diagram about comets, asteroids and meteors.
