A pleasant morning fellow Marians and to our beloved RVM sisters and faculty members praised be

Jesus and Mary! Before I humbly introduce myself I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate
and give my highest respect to our outgoing SBO officers for all the leadership, excellence, braver and
camaraderie rendered in serving the school administration. I think they deserve a big round of applause.

Now allow me to formally introduce myself, my name is HANNAH ANDREA ABAROLLO SALAMIDA grade
10 students under the advisory class of Mrs. PALCE running and aspiring to be one of the SBO councillors
and I strongly believed that a good leader does not have to be genius and all-knowing person because
even intelligent are not good leaders with respect in how they enact and implement laws, rules and
regulations. A leader who is knowledgeable and has a compassionate heart to think for the welfare and
betterment of her people is the best definition of a good leader. And that is a kind of leader standing in
front of you right now

And with that allow me to provide a straightforward of my platform of government to convince you that
I deserve your votes: if I would be chosen to be one of the SBO councillors, my platform will focused on
the implementation of Zero Waste Management program here in our school why? It probably because
of the poor disposal and handling of waste thus leads to environmental degradation, destruction of the
ecosystem and it poses great risks to the public health. And as your next SBO councillor the things that I
would do to make our school clean and organized simply by encouraging and educating the staff and the
students to practice about using other ways of disposing of waste such as separating, reducing recycling,
reusing and composting are good options in managing school waste and also it gives a high impact in
protecting our environment and the health and safety of the population. It teaches us also to have that
kind of discipline because we cannot pass on it to our janitor, janitress, utility person, maintenance
personnel’s our inherent tasks and obligation because in fact, this is integral on our part to contribute
for the welfare and improvement of this institution

I’d like to end my speech by saying that the best way of dealing with waste is to avoid creating it in the
first place. But to avoid creating it gives that greater challenge because of our individual differences. For
effective waste management, waste minimization, reduce, reuse, recycle method be that in our
respective household, community or in school, it requires action not only to a specific group of person
that I’ve mentioned a while ago. Not only to the janitor, janitress, utility person, maintenance personnel
because they are given monetary incentives for that purpose but most importantly, it needs a
collaborative effort coming from us framing a society, an institution, and a county as whole.
