IV. Personal Evaluation of the Training Program and Industry Partner

Reaction paper by the trainee to include comments on the following areas:

1. Professional Learning and Development Achieved

The site of our On the job training is at No. 70 Calle Industria, Bagumbayan, Quezon
City, Metro Manila, where a condominium(Avila Tower) with 43 floors is under construction.
During our On the job training, we are handled by an architect, Sir Rey and a civil engineer, Sir
Cesar. They oriented us to the site where lots of room is needed to be checked. Since the project
is in the finishing phase already, we are tasked to monitor each room. Throughout training we are
exposed to different activities and actual scenarios that can be seen to the site. For example, how
an engineer or an architect handle situation to the foreman or other laborers. This helps us to get
ready to the future in the chosen work field. Also, during the training I learned how to
communicate properly to the people around the site, regardless of what position they possessed.

2. Techniques, Skills and Technology aspects learned

During on the job training, I learned some techniques like checking the tiles and walls for
“kapak” using a coin or pvc pipe. I also learned how a wall or ceiling is being installed. In
addition I learned how to perform waterproofing. Also, throughout training I was able to
experience how to mix cement and sand during installation of louvers blocks. It was a fun
experience indeed.

3. Experiences with the Company Personnel Involved in the Training

In our almost 6 weeks of training, we are able to know different type of people and how
to communicate with them. In training we are handled mostly by junior architects, they treated as
not as OJT’s but as a workmate already. We are thought some techniques on how to checked
things around the site, what material is used, how to install walls, how to waterproof and some
advised about board exams.

4. Industry’s Best Practices Applied

Industry’s best practices applied mostly are related to construction.

5. Strong Points

Some of the strong point of the trainee is that she knows how to respond and eager to
learn more.

6. Weak Points and Suggested Solutions

Some of the weak point is she hardly communicate with other staffs.
