My Seminary Three

By Paolo Enrino Pascual

Section 2H

My 1st semester as a 2nd year student is very different compared to when I was a
first year. Coming into the school year, I was a bit frustrated for failing a subject causing
me to only take three subjects, namely, land title and deeds, criminal procedure and this
seminary three class. I learned all about land registration as well as court proceedings,
but what really refreshes me is rekindling my learnings about my own personal morals
and how life is really a miracle.

Just as in the video showed to us,

everyone first starts to learn about what is
right and what is wrong inside our own
homes. We do as we were taught by our
parents and take as examples or follow
our siblings. There are external influences

as well like our friends and our community.

However, there is always a voice inside
our head telling us if something is good or bad innately even if we haven’t experienced it
ourselves. That is our conscience, or the voice of God for that reason. God is always

besides us even if we are not aware or refuse to recognize his presence. I realized that

what is important is to listen to his voice guiding us to do what is just and proper. That
being said, I have learned to once again listen to his voice so I won’t be confuse in life
anymore.

Another thing I learned is how life is a miracle. As we all started off as tiny and

irrelevant cells, we all somehow grew and lived to be the person who we are now. How
it’s a miracle to be able to wake up every morning and just be able to do mundane
regular things. Such as eating breakfast, taking a bath, walking, breathing or just being
able to see. I learned how to not take
every opportunity I have for granted, how
precious every second, every minute of life
is. It has taught to be more thankful for all
the things I have in life especially the loves
ones and people around me. I became so
busy being in law school that I forgot the
really important things. I’m not saying that
I’m able to show appreciation all the time,
but I am proud to be able to improve on it.

My seminary three class, although brief and concise has really been a good
experience for me. It reminded me that being in law school currently should not be my

whole life. It opened my eyes once again to the importance things I almost took for

granted and let pass by. I’m really thankful to have this class as part of my curriculum
and really thankful to our instructor for guiding me, along with the class in this journey
called law school, 1st semester, 2nd year.
