3. HEALTH AND SAFETY

 Strictly followed as per the manufacturer's Health and Safety
recommendations for handling and use of the materials.

 Ensure all involved personnel shall be aware of the same.

 Specific safety measures have to follow as applicable, and all the safety
measures are covered separately in the project safety plan.

4. OPERATION
 Material:

 Material used will be as approved by the Engineer.

 The sizes and routes routing will be as per the approved Shop
Drawings.

 Storage and Protection:

 Deliver components parts to site, completely identified in accordance

with shop and certified CAD Drawings prepared for this work.
 Store in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, above
ground, properly protected from the weather and construction activities.

5. INSTALLATION AND FIXATION

 Pre-Installation:
 All materials and documentation relevant to this particular section of
works will be checked and verified ensuring that these are correct and
approved type.
 Prior to the commencement of works, ensure that the areas for
permanent installation are ready, accessible and in suitable condition.

 Preparation:
1. Engineer in-charge shall check to ensure that the Light Fixtures
manufacturing, complies with specification and drawings.
2. Engineer shall check to ensure that when installing Light Fixture in
Hotel Guest Room, Corridor, Foyer, Front of House (FOH) and Back of
House (BOH), architectural finishing work is completed.
3. Ensure there is any physical obstruction during the delivery light
fixtures.
4. Ensure that the Light fixture design/equipment provided all are fully
comply with the specification.
5. Supplier shall deliver light fixtures unit to site and store it designated
place.
6. Handle the light fixture unit with care to avoid damage to components,
frame and finish.
7. When the light fixtures unit is received, unpack it sufficiently to inspect
it fo
8. concealed damage to determine that the shipment is complete and
correct.
9. If the light fixtures are to be stored prior to installation, replace the
packing for protection during that period. When conditions permit, leave
the packing intact until light fixtures unit are at their final installation
location.
10. Protect the fixtures against the dust and debris during construction
period.
11. A trolley or pallet may offer a more convenient method of handling the
light fixtures to shift from one location to other.

 Installation:
1. Site survey of the proposed light fixture is based on approved
shopdrawing by foreman / sub-contractor together with Engineer.
2. Installation must be carried out based on approved shop drawings &
samples by foreman / sub-contractor.
3. Most wall and ceiling fixtures–other than recessed fixtures–fit into
standard electrical outlet boxes and are usually easy to mount.
4. Most fixtures are mounted by a fixture stud or a fixture strap.
Occasionally you need an extension nipple or a plain nipple for
mounting certain fixtures.
5. Any additional mounting devices required for special types of fixtures
are usually included in the materials furnished by the manufacturer.
6. Read and follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully for a neat
installation.

 Installation of Wall Fixtures:

1. As a rule, you can install wall fixtures in regular outlet boxes with an
ordinary strap and nipple.
2. Different types of wall fixtures have different connecting arrangements,
but you can usually attach the strap right to the fixture outlet box with
screws. Then you can attach the wall fixture to the strap with a nipple
and knurled cap.
3. If the box has a central stud, you will need only an adapter and a nipple to
attach the fixture. An adapter is screwed onto the stud, the nipple is attached to
the adapter and the fixture is attached to the nipple
4. Wall fixtures are usually quite simple to install. Manufacturers of wall fixtures
design different mounting arrangements. The manufacturer will usually
include complete installation instructions with the fixture.

 Installation of Ceiling Fixtures:

1. Some ceiling outlet boxes have no stud in the center. In such cases,
the ceiling fixture is usually installed with a strap that is screwed
directly to the threads in the ceiling outlet box. The ceiling fixture is
then attached to the strap with screws.
2. The mounting arrangement illustrated will support most lightweight
ceiling fixtures. Such an installation is simple, fast and meets most
wiring codes.
3. If the ceiling outlet box has a center fixture stud, mount the fixture by
attaching the strap to the center stud with a locknut.
4. Once the fixture strap is firmly attached to the fixture stud with the
locknut, screw the fixture canopy to the strap with two screws.
5. Heavier drop fixtures are often mounted with a hickey. This hickey
screws to the center fixture stud.
6. Attach a nipple to the lower section of the hickey with a locknut. Then
mount the fixture canopy to the nipple with a collar.
7. Hickey use in mounting drop fixtures varies according to the design
and weight of the ceiling fixture. Almost all heavier drop fixtures require
a hickey.

 Technical Assistance:
 The installation supervising technician for the system trade shall
instruct the CONSULTANT Engineer, and Construction Site
Manager on the programming and correct operation of the system
after the installation is completed.
 This instruction shall be scheduled at the convenience of the staff.
 All such instruction shall be properly recorded.
 WIR will be issued for Consultant approval upon making sure that
the installation of the system equipment’s done as per approved
shopdrawings, approved specs and manufacturer recommendations.
