 INTRODUCTION

Description of the Business

“KAPAlit Namo” eatery is a local food business owned by two successful flipino
entrepreneurs namely, John Patrick Jayme and Kurt Russell Plete. The said eatery business was
started on the 2nd day in the month of June on the current year, 2019. It envisions to provide
the public including students, teachers, and people in the locality the best of the bests filipino
dishes to be partnered in a meal in a cheap and reasonable price. It also goals to bring
satisfaction to all customers by having respectable promos and trends that are situated in the
eatery.
The business had an extraordinary background. Similar to many successful businesses,
the KAPAlit namo!” eatery started low and humble. The idea of starting the business started
when John Patrick and Kurt Russell decided to have a small source of money as a starting fund
for building their dreamhouse after their union. Since they have not yet experienced opening a
business. In addition, they also lack of initial starting fund to begin with. The only foundation
they had was their skills and passions for cooking. As a result, they decided to start a food
business. Their lack of experience pushed them to have a mindset of having “easy money”.
Thus, they invested in the KAPA Marketing. They thought that it would help them to build an
instant big business. This mindset had led them to a conflict since late in the year 2018, the
KAPA Marketing was subjected in hold by the government and after a few days, it was shut
down under the term and will of President Duterte. Although it was hard for both Jayme and
Plete to accept the fact, they didn’t give up and they learned from their mistake. They realized
that starting a business doesn’t to be an instant win to win situation for them. They also inferred
that in order for them to grow having a mindset of true entrepreneur, it was needed for them to
be patient and to be determined in settling and eyeing for the true vision, mission, and goal of
their business. The business’ name reminded them what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.
Their learning from their mistake paved the way for them to contain the various characteristics
that an entrepreneur should possess.
Several businessmen and businesswoman franchised the business. The said eatery
currently has 6 branches in the city of Davao located in the University of Mindanao (Bolton
Campus), Mintal, Buhangin, Ulas, Catalunan Grande, Catalunan Pequeno. The food business
grows fast as time goes by and it continuously improves the quality of the food and the services
it offers to its customers.
Location of the Business

“KAPAlit namo” eatery is situated in six areas around the the city of Davao. However,
the main branch is located at University of Mindanao Bolton Campus Bolton Street, Poblacion
District, Davao City, Davao del Sur.

Funding requirement and Source of Funds.

The initial funding requirement that was proposed and that was followed by the
business is P1,000.00. The initial funds are internal and didn’t need the support of external
loaning companies. It was divided equally among ten people that were willing to take the risk
in order to start the business.
